This is what I’ve been busy with this summer.
I run a little summer gallery behind our cottage in the separate bunkhouse. I’ve converted it into a magical space and people come see me and sometimes buy things! 🥰

At any given time, I have multiple different projects on the go and lists upon lists upon lists of things that need to get done.

This is my piece for the 78 Tarot New Wave- Nautical deck. I’m remaking my Ace of Pentacles card. There’s a few ‘nods’ in this piece to my last ace of pentacles piece. Like the treasure chest and water lilies.

The picture in the background is my colour map. It makes actually painting it easier because I have the ‘map’ already laid out for me instead of making decisions as I go. Which is also fine but I find I waste my own time that way.

Her bio: Maigan Lynn is a self-taught fantasy illustration artist who currently resides in Manitoba Canada. Her work is most notable for her fantasy ladies with exaggerated eyelashes and her vibrant colour palette’s. Though her first love is watercolour, Maigan has dabbled with other mediums such as liquid oils, acrylics, pencils, and digital art.

When she’s not creating she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and furry family members at their cottage by the lake which offers much inspiration for her work!

We do hand renderings for every artwork we release. It takes time to release artworks as we want to get it as close to the original artwork as possible.

Ooooooh it feels WEIRD to be out in the wild without a website! LOL! I have had a website for at least the last 15 years so to be completely without one feels a little naked lol. My previous webhost, Weebly, was recently bought out by Square and decided that they were going to raise their top tier eccomerce package from $46CAD to $79CAD a month.....and I said no....I'm not playing these greed games. So I've now moved to a different host, opted to shut down my site for the time being while I rebuild, but will still have the same site name when all is said and done. So don't worry! Maiganlynnart.com will live on!

SO, if you need or want anything you'll just have to let me know here. Because I currently have no other means of offering products until my site is up. Weeeeee what a year for artists, honestly....its been rough out here, folks!

Ok, friends, I need your opinions. Recently I switched my shopping cart on my site from Ecwid to Weebly. I've had my site with Weebly for quite some time for various other things but this last couple months is the first time I also decided to implement my shopping cart with them. However, shortly after having done so, I received an email from them stating that the package I had chose with them to get the best features for my shop is now going to DOUBLE by my next billing cycle. DOUBLE. For nothing. I left Ecwid because they were raising their prices. And now I have to do the same for Weebly. I can't downgrade because I will lose important shipping features that I rely on.

The problem is, I don't have time to implement a whole new shopping cart right now. I just don't. I'm trying to get ready for my seasonal gallery opening next month and meet my monthly obligations for Patreon and 78 Tarot and I just cannot dedicate whole weeks to redoing an entire shopping cart - again - nor can I pay someone and take the time to deligate what I need. I need something I can work on over time - I'm considering Word Press but I have to do some more research again because I can't flip my cart every time these companies decide to double their prices. And I don't play the corporate games. I don't play the algorithm games. I don't believe in spending money for absolutely nothing.

So my thought is, for now, to sell JUST through social media. Which is terrifying because the FB algorithms are HORRENDOUS. I don't usually reach a fraction of my actual following. But these are my current options. I won't sell on Etsy because of their fees and structures. I end up wasting my money there to get my work seen by almost zero people and they are no longer for the sellers. I'm also not about to compete on a platform with AI generated images.
But I digress, orders could be placed directly through me via the message button and invoices would be sent through Paypal - you don't need an account with Paypal to use it. You can use your balance if you have one or pay securely with a credit card. It's an option I've always offered on my site as well but this would be just through me for now. It is secure and reliable - I've used Paypal for almost 20 years now.

Is this a process you would feel comfortable with? I have friends who function this way and seem to do well but figuring out how best to do this may be a little tricky.
Let me know your thoughts because it would really help me out. I'm just so tired of being nickel and dimed by greedy companies and corporations and I'm no longer interested in playing their games. I always find a way to work around things that just don't work for me. This is just super inconvenient timing. However, this also allows me to work out more exact shipping costs as well. The sites are usually pretty good but sometimes they don't account for the weights of each item properly. But doing it myself I can get it pretty exact.

Anyway, thanks for reading this and let me know your thoughts! (I'm just adding a picture of my 2 of cups bookmarks so this post doesn't get lost in the mix!!)

I started working on this last year and never finished painting it. It still has to be sealed and hung up on some driftwood. I cut it myself with my bandsaw and then painted it.

There's only 42 hours left to get in on this deck! It's already fully funded so its definitely a GO but if you've been waiting, now is your chance to hop on board!!!!

Good Morning!!! Sorry I’ve been so busy lately and haven’t popped in for some daily chats! I have so many fun things I’m working on right now. But prior to this there was a lot of boring stuff like website work and taxes… blech lol. Now I’m making jewelry and some wood pieces and some more art and signs and working with other artists for my gallery this year.

I managed to squeak this one in just under the wire!
This is the monthly ACEO print for my p-8-reon subs. Each month I also send an exclusive vinyl sticker out with the prints - the stickers are a little different from the prints making them BOTH exclusive and collectible! The only people to ever get these are the ones subbed for that month over on my p-8-reon.
If you want this print and sticker for this month you just have to hop on over to my p=8=reon page (I'll add the link in comments) and subscribe before midnight. You can sub and unsub as you see fit - if there's a card that you don't jive with for that month you can choose to skip it! Or just leave it and get super fun monthly snail mail! It's also super affordable at $7USD/$10CAD a month!

I have some thick specialty paper on the way that will allow me to make postcards and paper bookmarks of my art…… in years past, postcards have been super popular but I was always restricted to ordering just a few images at a time because I would pay a company to make them for me…but it changes things if I can make them myself….
