Basel Children's Trust (BCT)

The workshop will be a practical session covering topics such as baby and child CPR, choking, recovery position, burns, allergies, broken bones, bleeding, asthma and more. Plenty of time for practice and questions in a relaxed informal session.

BCT is in full swing again in September, so we're putting on our dancing shoes! In addition to our regular playgroups and weekend activities, we are co-hosting a Kids Disco with Happy Hedgehog International Playgroup on the 15th! We hope you will join us!

The BCT's annual summer picnic happened on the 22nd of June. While we wanted to welcome summer in, we instead danced the spring rain away! Despite the ever changing forecast and downpour as the event started, we saw many families old and new turn up and partake in the events activities. Thank you for attending and making it successful!
There were wonderful summer themed crafts, popcorn, balloon animals and tattoos to entertain the children. In the rain, the bikes and playground were humming with children and a break in the weather saw a fabulous demo class from InterSoccer. The screams and laughs of the children chasing after the InterSoccer coaches made the event enjoyable.

The BCT team took a moment at the summer picnic to give our sincere thanks to our wonderful co-Chairs Morgan Hardy and Amanda Potter. These wonderful two ladies have led the BCT over the last number of years, through covid, website revamp, volunteer restructures and many more behind the scenes jobs. We thanked them for their time and energy as they both stepped back from their co-chair roles as of June 2024.
They have given tremendously, helped everywhere and always been ready to be where a extra pair of hands is required.
Thank you from the wider BCT families and friends for everything you both have done! We are glad this is not a goodbye but a massive thank you, a job well done. We will miss you both!

Summertime in Basel is all about taking it easy and enjoying the amazing local parks and pools. Why not do both with your friends from the BCT? Park meetups will replace playgroups throughout the summer holidays. Join us for some fun!

Looking for a way to socialize and meet other Basel parents and expecting parents during your lunch hour? Join the BCT lunch meet up at 12:15 at Klara restaurant (Clarastrasse 13, 4058 Basel) for a fun and casual outing. Attendees can order their own food from the 13 different (and delicious) vendors at Klara restaurant.

Join us on Sunday, 16 June as we explore the ponds and caves of the largest English landscaped garden in Switzerland!

The walk will be in two parts:
1- A stroller-friendly stroll around the lake.
2- A stroller-inaccessible climb to the grottoes, where we can practice our Greek/Roman mythology.

Come join us for our annual Summer Picnic!
Saturday 22nd June at Oekolampadmatte.

We are still actively and urgently seeking 2 co chairs to transition into the roles in June. The co chairs are unable to continue past June and we need to transition the responsibilities so playgroups and programs can continue in the 24/25 school year.

If you have a bit of time to help with this well loved organisation we would really appreciate it. Even if you have a few hours available please reach out as we are open to arranging volunteer support to make it work. Both roles average 2-4 hours per week and you have a fantastic team of volunteers as support, the current co chairs will also be available for transition support. The roles have been enormously rewarding for the past 3.5 years both personally and professionally.
