Being older, though, does mean you've had more opportunity to accumulate trauma in the body. The age of the car doesn't determine the necessary maintenance schedule; your driving and mileage do.

What do you do as maintenance?
Like cars, our bodies are not designed to be maintenance-free. The first 60,000 miles or so are usually smooth sailing, just oil changes and maybe tires. After that, regular (self) care is important for prevention of major issues. What do you do for prevention?

Sometimes different parts of our bodies connect in the most unexpected ways. A pair of small muscles at the base of the skull (re**us capitis posterior minor) has attachments to the dura mater, the fibrous covering of the brain and spinal cord. Tension in this muscle often results not only in headaches, but myriad other symptoms because of this connection.
Have chronic low back pain? Do you stand with one leg turned out? Weight shifted to one side? These are signs of pelvic rotation or pelvic torsion. One can always "pop" these things back into place, but stretches and exercises are a more sustainable approach. Much of how your muscles activate and deactivate when you walk is dictated by the feet -- patterning, sequencing, and timing. As your feet interact with the ground (or with the ground via your shoes), the proper amount and sequence of stresses to the ligaments of the feet helps orchestrate our movements. A foot not moving well means a body not moving well.
Assessing and addressing the QUALITY of your movement, instead of just the quantity, is how you stay out of trouble.
If your body can’t do something the right way, it’ll do it the wrong way… without asking permission first. You may have to do it the wrong way for a long time before you start to notice the strain. Well, actually I think both postures are not ideal (none looks relaxed, right?)
Definetely stretches are good BUT, in both postures stretches wont be enough, some muscles also need to be activated, some body awareness worked on.
Tight pectoral muscles are a typical part of bad posture. They're part of a complex of postural distortions often called upper-crossed syndrome. Stretching them can be helpful not only for the shoulders, but also the neck and back. Your Mind & Emotions Are Very Powerful
Humans experience an array of emotions, anything from happiness, to sadness to extreme joy and depression. Each one of these emotions creates a different feeling within the body. After all, our body releases different chemicals when we experience various things that make us happy and each chemical works to create a different environment within the body. For example if your brain releases serotonin, dopamine or oxytocin, you will feel good and happy. Conversely, if your body releases cortisol while you are stressed, you will have an entirely different feeling associated more with the body kicking into survival mode.
What about when we are thinking negative thoughts all the time? Or how about when we are thinking positive thoughts? What about when we are not emotionally charged to neither positive nor negative?
