Our students put their baking skills to work for a great cause on 'Sweets for Support' day! They baked delicious treats and sold them to raise funds for St. Patrick's Hospital in Malawi. A sweet effort for a sweeter cause!
Our students had an incredible opportunity to embark on a study trip to Poland! They explored the rich history of Krakow and paid a profound visit to the Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps, delving deeper into the history that these places hold. An unforgettable experience filled with learning and reflection.
GSD was honored to host the GSD-MIKTA Forum 2024, where distinguished Permanent Representative Ambassadors from MIKTA nations (Mexico, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Turkey, and Australia) gathered. Ambassadors Francisca E. Méndez Escobar of Mexico, Febrian Ruddyard of Indonesia, Seong Deok Yun of the Republic of Korea, Mrs. Arzu Ercelik Vandeweyer, Deputy Permanent Representative of Turkey, and Amanda Gorely of Australia, delivered insightful speeches related to the forum's theme, 'MIKTA and multilateralism: Strengthening cooperation in challenging times.' Their addresses underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in today's global landscape, emphasizing their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties and contributing constructively to international affairs. Following their speeches, the event featured a panel discussion and a Q&A session, where MIKTA members demonstrated their dedication to fostering mutual understanding and cooperation. Our Dean, Prof. Athar Sultan-Khan, was a special guest speaker along with the President of Lithuania and other dignitaries. His interactions on current world affairs was received with great interest by the participants.

Jade Wirth said: "Volunteering at the 2023 UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award was a highly rewarding experience. Getting to know the work of outstanding individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to promoting refugee protection worldwide, and seeing their efforts being officially acknowledged and rewarded was truly inspiring and remarkable. It was my pleasure to help the UNHCR team, along with the other volunteers, in ensuring this important event ran smoothly".
