The 15th-anniversary celebration of FORS took place on November 16, 2023, at the University of Lausanne, marking a momentous occasion. The event gathered many past and present FORS members for discussions centered on FORS’s remarkable journey and its future trajectory.

🔵 FORS Director Georg Lutz highlighted the importance of adapting to evolving research data challenges and expressed gratitude to contributors who have supported FORS’s success over the years.

🔵 FORS remains a pivotal player in the Swiss research landscape, leveraging past achievements while adapting to future changes to maintain its excellence as a benchmark infrastructure for the social sciences.

We support the "Social Sciences and Humanities Research Infrastructures in Switzerland" initiative

In spring 2022, a coordination group consisting of the directors of national research infrastructures (RIs) in the SSH, the national coordinators of international SSH RIs with Swiss participation (CESSDA, CLARIN, DARIAH, ESS, SHARE, GGP) and the representatives of the Swiss Academy for the SSH was created.

This initiative asks for a better acknowledgment of the interests of the SSH domain among policy makers.
We call on the bodies responsible for prioritising and funding research infrastructures to recognise the needs of the Swiss SSH community and fund infrastructures in this area.
Help us to improve the situation for SSH infrastructures in Switzerland and to create a fair and equal funding environment, by reading the position paper and signing the letter of support before 30 September 2022 using this form:
