Mbailassem & Chickaboo - the perfect pair 🦍🥰
These two have been close ever since our integration of Chickaboo & Chris' groups last year in our new gorilla enclosure. Everyone immediately took a liking to little Mbailassem, but these two make the cutest duo.

Let's take a moment to celebrate our wonderful staff 👏
While all of our staff work incredibly hard all year round, at the end of each year we like to recognise the exceptional performance of individual staff members and for 2023 we had THREE ‘Worker of the Year’ winners!!
From left to right:
Charles Amougou, Head of Education
Ngomba Justin, Primate Caregiver
Douplex Asouogui Tchoudjo, Education Officer
They went above and beyond this year, and this is just our little way in saying thank you. Please join us in celebrating this achievement
Our staff work 24/7 365 days a year and we are grateful for each and every one of them 💚

Annual charity donation 🦧🧡🦍💚🦧🧡🦍💚
As many of you know, every year Gwyn and I use our businesses to raise money and awareness for 2 different animal charities. At the end of the year we collect it all together and make our donations to them.
Our two chosen charities are Ape Action Africa and ORANGUTAN APPEAL UK of which I am an ambassador and chairperson respectively. Both organisations do amazing work for ape conservation in Cameroon and Borneo.
This year our total raised is an absolutely fantastic amount of £59,069.91 🤩🤩🤩🤩
We wouldn’t be able to raise an amount like this without the support of our wonderful customers, our amazing teams in the Alpine Coffee Shop and Hangin' Pizzeria and our supportive suppliers, so we’d like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to you all 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This money will make a huge difference to both charities and enable them to carry on with their conservation projects.
Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
We are so blessed, we are back to say another huge THANK YOU, this time to the wonderful, Jacha! 🤗
Jacha, as you may already know, is an incredibly talented artist, photographer and conservationist that we are so fortunate to call one of our Ambassadors. He has always been such a wonderful supporter, and 2023 has been no exception.
We just received an incredible £10,000 donation - making his total for this year, a phenomenal £32,000!! We are so grateful and moved by his generosity. Thank you to Jacha, his teams at Jacha Potgieter - Platform Galeri, Hangin' Pizzeria and Alpine Coffee Shop, and everyone who has supported their fundraising efforts this year.
We continue to be touched by his hard work and passion for primate conservation. We are so grateful and these funds will make such a difference to the primates at our Mefou sanctuary. Please join us in saying a huge thank you 🧡

The picture is a little throwback to when Jacha completed this wonderful painting for one of our fundraising events in March 2020.
Join us in saying thank you to the Zoo de Granby in Quebec, Canada! ❤️
They are long term supporters of Ape Actions Africa, and recently gave an incredibly generous donation of $2,000.
Over the years, their support has done so much for the orphaned and endangered primates in our care, and we are so grateful for their continued kindness 🦍

Remembering Avi Sivan ❤️
13 years ago, friend and former Director of Ape Actions Africa, Avi Sivan died in a tragic air accident.
Avi and his wife Talila's passion and dedication to primate conservation, was pivotal in taking Ape Action Africa from a small rehabilitation and care project to the sanctuary it is today. We wouldn't be where we are without them.
Their work continues to inspire all that step foot into Mefou, and he will never be forgotten.
Our love and our thoughts are with his family, and we hope you can take a moment with us to reflect and remember ❤️
Looking for the perfect Christmas gift? 🩷 Sponsor Nouji! 🩷
Nouji was rescued in July 2022 at just 6 months old. She is a confident, giggly, and energetic gorilla who loves to play. She doesn't get her nickname "non-stop Nouji" for nothing!
Sound like you or someone you know?
Sponsoring one of our gorillas is a wonderful way to directly support our work whilst getting the opportunity to really get to know one of our primates & keep up to date with their progress🤗

Say hello to Landry! 👋
Landry is one of our wonderful primate caregivers in Section Sivan. Some members of his family live in our village so as well as looking after chimpanzees and baboons during the day, he sometimes works the community bar in the evening (Bar le Gorille)! 🍹🦍
Our incredible staff like Landry are on hand 24/7 365 days a year. To make sure they feel appreciated and cared for, we feed our staff three meals a day. This costs £12,000 a year and we are in need of your support. If you would like to donate go to the to and

Roberto Garcia Roa is a talented photographer and biologist who recently visited our Mefou sanctuary to take photos for PASA
We wanted to say a huge thank you to him for taking some wonderful shots, being an absolute pleasure to work with and sharing his incredible insect knowledge with us when he wasn’t busy taking photos of our primates and our team 🧡
Make sure to give him a follow to keep up with his wonderful work!

Noah was very thin and extremely scared when he arrived at Ape Action Africa as a 10-month-old. With expert care from our dedicated team, he soon developed a fearsome appetite and his fabulous personality began to shine through 😍
Now a member of Little Larry's group, Noah loves running around the forest.. And if he's got a stick to bang around while he's doing it, he's even happier! 💚

Remember your amazing fundraising for Giving Day for Apes and how you raised over $6,000 in just 24 hours?? Well, that is enough to pay for 34 WEEKS of pineapples!!
We will of course not be spending it all on pineapples, but every penny will be used to go towards our running costs, including the food for our primates. Thank you so much again, we are so grateful for your ongoing support 🤗

❤️ Sponsor Bobga ❤️
Bobga was only 15 months old when he arrived at one of the other wonderful sanctuaries in Cameron, Limbe Wildlife Centre
He is almost certainly another young gorilla orphaned as a result of the illegal bushmeat trade 😔
Having transferred to Mefou in 2019 Bobga has had a long road to recovery from the trauma of his past but today he is thriving, happy and safe living with other gorillas 🥹
By sponsoring an ape, it is a direct way of supporting the work we do and the primates we care for 🧡 They also make great Christmas presents 🤫 ➡️ https://buff.ly/3huDa4R

We are sorry to announce that our Mefou sanctuary is currently closed to visitors 😞
Due to unprecedented heavy rain, the nearby Mefou River has flooded and this has caused the road to our sanctuary to flood.
Everyone at the sanctuary is safe, but the flooding and landslides have destroyed homes and caused fatalities in the capital city of Yaoundé 💔
This is the first time flooding like this has occurred in our history. Extreme weather is becoming more frequent due to the

It's deworming time! 😄🩺
Twice a year, we deworm everyone at Ape Action Africa. It is an important aspect of our care in order to maintain the health of our primates (+ humans!).
We feed our great apes an orange flavoured tablet 😋🍊 While our monkeys get their meds hidden in a banana 🤫🍌
A huge well done to the vet team and our caregivers for making sure over 300 individuals (gorillas, chimps, monkeys and humans) took their meds 🧡

Look at this little guy! 🐸 and his iridescent legs 🌈😍
We are now returning to our normal programming here at AAA after an un frog-gettable Giving Day for Apes!
We have lots of exciting updates and ribbeting content coming up in the next few weeks - including the launch of our toad-ally new 2024 calendar 👀

We are beyond grateful for each and every one of you 💚
Yesterday, you raised an incredible 🎉🥳⭐$6,186 (£5,122)! ⭐🥳🎉
You really came together for the orphaned primates in our care and whether you donated $5 or $500, you have made a tangible difference to their lives. If you couldn't donate, but simply liked & shared our content - it all helps and makes such a difference. We will continue to work hard to provide a safe haven for victims of the illegal wildlife trade at our Mefou sanctuary, but it wouldn't be possible without people like you - so we are forever grateful.
So, thank you and big hugs to our whole Ape Action Africa family 🤗
Love from, Ape Action Africa 🦍
