The faculty members of the Low Carbon College recently paid a visit to the China Maritime Museum which is currently the largest and highest-ranked comprehensive maritime museum in China. This activity cultivated the faculty's interest in the maritime industry and maritime history and greatly expanded their interdisciplinary perspectives.

LCC researcher, Associate Professor Yuquan Zhang's research group recently published a paper titled “Investigating lanthanum flows and stocks in China: A dynamic material flow analysis” in Journal of Cleaner Production.

To improve the physical strength of staff, the SJTU China-UK Low Carbon College recently organized a sports competition together with the UM-SJTU joint institute, SJTU ParisTech Elite Institute of Technology, USC-SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry, and SJTU College of Smart Energy by the Dishui Lake in Pudong, Shanghai.

On the morning of April 19th, Liu Xianglei, Executive Dean of the Institute of Comprehensive Energy at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, led a delegation to visit the Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University for in-depth research and exchanges. Both parties conducted experience exchanges on the construction of disciplines, curriculum design, industry-university-research cooperation, laboratory safety management, and other aspects of the institute. Both sides expressed their commitment to leverage their respective resource advantages, strengthen communication, and enhance consensus. The purpose of this exchange was to enhance cooperation between the two institutes and promote research and education in the field of low carbon.

From April 14th to 16th, the SJTU China-UK Low Carbon College successfully held the Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Series Course on Advanced ESG Training. More than 20 middle and senior managers from various sectors, including energy, environmental protection, finance, construction, information technology, investment, and consulting, participated in the training course.

Supported by the Department of Climate Change of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Low Carbon College of Shanghai Jiao Tong University held an executive training course on "Climate Change Capacity Building" for nearly 50 government officials from March 27 to 31, 2023. The one-week course is focused on the national goals of peaking CO2 emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, which greatly enhances the knowledge and skills for addressing climate change.

On March 23rd, LCC held the 2023 Graduation Ceremony in Lin-gang, Shanghai.

On March 13, the SJTU-UoE Seed Fund Networking Workshop 2023 co-organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and University of Edinburgh (UoE) was successfully held virtually.

More than 40 interested academics from 11 schools across SJTU and UoE joined the discussion, greatly enhancing the low carbon research collaborations between the two universities.

The torch relay for the 2022 Winter Olympics kicked off in the host city of Beijing, starting a three-day journey that will feature around 1,200 torchbearers including SJTU alumni Yao Ming and Ma Long.

The Beijing 2022 will promote and embody the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together”, and encourage people around the world to come together for a shared furure.

SJTU Professor Zhou Bin has been dedicated to promoting Chinese traditional art throughout the years.
Several years ago, with the support of the Chinese Embassies and Consulates, the "United Nations of Calligraphy" (UN NGO) was established at the UN International School, attracting a large number of diplomats and their children stationed in foreign countries. In recent years, with the theme of "SJTU Global Challenge Program,” Professor Zhou has cooperated with relevant UN agencies to carry out the "United Nations Chinese Character Culture Network Course" further promoting the spirit of calligraphy.
In order to celebrate the 2022 Winter Olympics, the exhibition of calligraphy works will open at the National Art Museum of China on February 18, 2022. Mr. Ban Ki-moon and Professor Zhou Bin are invited to participate in this exhibition and display their calligraphy works.
