In 2018, we embarked on a transformative journey with Costa Rican architect , becoming the Gilded Iguana as you see it today.

Honoring our roots, we preserved the timeless architecture of the 80s, using elements of the original building in our current frames and balconies - memories of locals and travelers eternalized in our walls.

Sustainability has always been a priority. Collaborating with bioclimatic design experts, we utilized nature's gifts - solar, wind, and shade - for temperature control, water recycling, and energy harnessing.

Our community's unwavering support brought these structures to life, crafted from locally sourced materials and with the dedicated labor of locals.

Skip the winter blues in this little slice of paradise. 🌴☀️

For the past 4 years, we’ve been patrons to la Escuela de Santa Teresita, a local school that was founded in 2002. This has included supporting the school for projects they want to undertake, help with fundraisings, and on a monthly basis our teams go out to bring their skills to the school! We recently went to plant trees and fruit plants with our teams from Maintenance, Human Resources and Marketing. Bringing nature into the school, with fruits and native trees, helping to create shade and knowledge around nature! We loved doing it, especially because it meant getting our hands in the dirt.

If you would like to know how to support this beautiful place, we invite you to bring down some school supplies, or donate at our front desk. We are currently raising funds for the making of a new classroom to be able to bring more kids to school
