Automat pokes its head out once again this Friday at 17:00. With both a smile on face and drinks on tap, the kiosk will be up and running for an evening of fun. Although the warmth of celebration will be in the air… we can also promise a few more conventional space heaters for your comfort :)

In keeping with holiday traditions, we’ve decided to take some time for our family. It’s been a beautiful ride these past few months and we’re excited to open our gates again sometime in January. Wishing everyone a nice “not slip on the ice” and we’ll signal when we’re open again with a smile and hot drink or two 🫂

The Sunday community series; a project finally in bloom at Automat. These special days will be full of workshops, talks, small concerts and exercise available to all who seek it out.

We’re excited to introduce the first Sunday in the series (27. 11) that will be lead by our homegrown hero .dite teaching the craft of advent wreath making. This workshop will take place together at a central table inside automat, and all materials needed are included in the sign-up price.

Coupled up with this exciting workshop will be another rendition of the Smiles Brunch Club. Come for food, come for running, come for yoga… or mix and match as you please.

Will be opening up our gates today (for the Day of Freedom and Democracy) at 14:30 until 19:30. These times also reflect our new winter hours, a slight adjustment from our opening times in the summer. Check our bio for more info 🧃

We wanted to re-introduce a part of the space that we’ve watched grow into something we could only imagine. This indoor part of our cafe straddles a fine balance between usability and coziness. As industrial as it gets for a place with fully functioning heating and wifi 🫂

So if you ever feel like heading down by the river, come say hello… we’d love to show you around

A welcomed dose of sun today bringing us towards the weekend. We’ll be closed tomorrow in preparation for a blender of emotions at the Cereal x Jasna 1 event, but see you Saturday… maybe for a glass of wine?

A late cocktail with our loved ones is nothing short of the best way to round up the week. We’re open tomorrow (Friday) until 22:30 serving some fun prior to the Residual night at Vitamin

After putting our heads together, we’ve created a cocktail menu including a charming concoction of Vodka, Pomegranate syrup, Rose Water, and soda (pictured here).

We’ve taken time this weekend to recharge the batteries and come Tuesday the gates will fly open once again.

In the coming weeks we’ll be prioritizing the introduction of our Automat family here on the feed. All of the team members are an integral part of the community, and we really admire the work they’ve already done at the space. These introductions will be made online but contrary to some contemporary belief, we still find an in person meeting more effective! So… if you’ve got some time come down and say hello :)

The sun is shining and so are John’s cocktail skills. An irreplaceable part of our team, John hails from across the pond over in the USA. He’s worked in close partnership with the rest of our bar team to develop the menu that we’re super proud to have here at Automat.

Whether you’ve pushed into heated drinks or you can still handle some ice, we’ve got you covered with opening hours until 19:30 tonight. As for the long weekend coming up (28. 10 - 31. 10) we’re gonna take a little pause and be back with you on Tuesday. See ya soon 🫂

Next up at Automat is the regular biweekly popcorn club, happening tonight. This time, we’ll be watching Monia Chokri’s 2022 flick Babysitter. Just the way we love it: a polarizing piece of phantasmagorical cinema, who some say is ‘destined for cult status’ while others deem it to be ‘agonizing’ and ‘not funny’. The movie nights will always be lovingly accompanied by the bar at Automat. Come and see for yourself.

It’s no secret that Alan Jarrar is a leading force in the arabica industry here in CZ. He is both a skilled craftsman and teacher, something that shines through whenever he meets with our team at Automat. We gotta say that its pretty amazing having him as a mentor, and his almost weekly lessons have been a fountain of knowledge for all staff members who have been there to attend. Catch Alan’s beans used for all of our coffee here at Automat 🙂

Come Friday Automat will be warming up for a night of splendour. Catch a few drinks, some tunes and maybe even a glass of Puszta Libre. The flagship bottle from Claus Preisinger is not one you’re gonna wanna miss

Every second week on Wednesday, Automat will keep its gate open a little bit further into the evening. These evenings will play host to Vitamin film club, a strong willed series pushing the best and the brightest film creations around. Screenings start at 21:00 and the bar will stay open to enhance your viewing pleasure. Entry is free… but 3D glasses are banned. See you tonight :-)
