📍Botanical Garden of the City Prague - 20 minutes far from by car 🚘

A place to rest, gain knowledge, have fun and delight all senses!

If you want to experience an oasis of calm just a bus ride away from the bustling city center, Prague Botanical garden is a great choice. Located in the vicinity of the Prague Zoo, in the Troja basin, Botanical Garden has been growing significantly since its opening.

Today, you can see there native species of Japanese plants, a collection of irises, or a geographic exhibit of plants from Turkey and Mediterranean. Don’t miss the spectacular Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse, which is open all year round and is unique in Europe. Transport yourself to the Australian bush, southern Africa, or the Mexican desert in the Petrified Forest exposition.

Another highlight of the Botanical Garden is the tour of the historical St. Claire Vineyard, where you can enjoy wine tasting and visit the Baroque St. Claire Chapel.

The greenhouse and outdoor exhibition are open all year round (greenhouse closed on Mondays) from 9 am – 4 pm from November to February, 9am – 5 pm in March and October, 9 am – 6 pm in April and 9 am – 7 pm from May to September. Getting to the Botanical Garden is the same as getting to the Prague Zoo.

The public transport is pretty convenient: from Nádraží Holešovice (metro red C line, or tram station) take the Bus No 112 to the last stop and then simply follow the signs (about 5 min on foot).

📍Troja Chateau - 20 minutes away from by car 🚙

Troja Château (Zámek Troja) - One of the most beautiful Baroque monuments is located in the immediate vicinity of the Prague Zoo. The chateau is surrounded by a gorgeous French garden. In the chateau’s interior you can admire the decorative frescos and exhibitions prepared by the Prague City Gallery. Concerts are also held on the chateau grounds.

Troja Palace is a Baroque palace located in Troja, Prague's north-west borough. It was built for the Counts of Sternberg from 1679 to 1691. The palace is owned by the city of Prague and hosts the 19th century Czech art collections of the City Gallery.

📍ZOO - 20 minutes away from by car 🚗

In the Troja quarter of the city, next to a beautiful eponymous Chateau (Zámek Troja), one of the best zoological gardens in the world is awaiting its nature-loving visitors.

Prague Zoo covers an area of over 0.5 square kilometers (about 60 hectares), in which it houses more than 4 thousand animals of over 650 species, including a large number of those listed as threatened.

ANIMALS - 🦓🦍🐘🐅🐆🦒- Apart from the above mentioned creatures, thousands of birds, reptiles, mammals, and all imaginable animals from every corner of the world have their home in Troja, in various environments created according to their specific needs and closely resembling their natural habitat. Prague Zoo over the years of its existence gradually created the current total of 12 pavilions and over 150 exhibits…

To properly enjoy everything Prague Zoo has to offer, you should plan your visit as an all-day trip. But if you only want to spend a few hours there, consider our must-see tips. Even though it is quite difficult to choose from the rich variety of nature’s wonders, you can still see many of them in the zoo ....
