At UNYP, we tell our students that sometimes you just need to experience what life offers and live in the moment. Last week, we were fully present, cherishing every second with our freshmen.

The first part of the week was all about breaking the ice and getting our students ready for a successful start. We had icebreakers and info sessions, including Technology at UNYP, Library Orientation, and Welcome Remarks.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Professor Radek Ptáček, a cherished member of the University of New York in Prague (UNYP).

Since joining UNYP in 2011, Professor Ptáček made a lasting impact on our community through his exceptional work in psychology, his dedication to students, and his advocacy for mental health awareness. His legacy of compassion, excellence, and education will continue to inspire us.

We are pleased to announce that Nikki Severin has been awarded the UNYP Alumni of the Year 2024 earlier this week.

Nikki has established a distinguished and successful career as the Brand and Marketing Manager at Bohemia Interactive, the largest video gaming studio in the Czech Republic. Her professional achievements in this competitive industry are a testament to her dedication and expertise.

During her studies in Communication & Mass Media at UNYP, Nikki demonstrated exceptional leadership and initiative. She was elected President of the Student Council, initiated the university's floorball team, and designed UNYP’s merchandise. Her contributions have had a lasting and positive impact on our university community.

In addition to her professional success, Nikki is an active member of two patient organizations, Pink Bubble and Bellis, which support young cancer patients. Despite facing a serious illness that temporarily paused her career, Nikki has continued to excel in her professional role and pursued her passions as a part-time actress and voice artist.

Nikki Severin exemplifies the qualities of resilience, creativity, and dedication, making her an ideal recipient of this award. Her accomplishments and commitment to both her career and community service are truly commendable.

UNYP proudly hosted the 23rd International Student Psychological Days, a beacon of academic excellence and collaboration. This landmark event not only showcased top-tier research from Czechia and Slovakia but also marked the first presentations in English, expanding opportunities for our students.

The International Student Psychological Days (MSPD) 2024 The primary objectives of the conference included presenting research findings across various domains of psychology.

Our educators are at the forefront of their fields, bringing fresh perspectives and professional experience into the classroom. Liba Taylor, our esteemed Digital Photography instructor at UNYP, is no exception. She is gearing up to present her latest work in the exhibition titled "With My Eye".

Our UNYP students are known for their energetic and proactive approach, which is clearly demonstrated through the significant projects they spearhead.

This time, we spotlight Liliya Sabitova, Jie Du and Donggawan Kim, who have developed an educational project on HPV awareness as part of the capstone module in one of our programs.

We're proud to share that our Dean of the School of Business, David Anthony Prochazka, was a keynote speaker at the recent V4 conference on disinformation. With his expertise in evidence-based management and critical thinking, David Anthony brought invaluable perspectives to this dialogue.

The conference provided a platform to address the challenges of disinformation across the V4 nations, highlighting the importance of critical analysis in today's complex information landscape.

Last week, the University of New York in Prague hosted its annual event, UNYP Career Days. The centerpiece was our 2024 Job Fair.

The Job Fair was designed to provide our students with a platform rich in career-building possibilities and networking opportunities.

UNYP's Student Research Conference 2024

The University of New York in Prague proudly hosted its annual Student Research Conference (SRC) today, showcasing the wide-ranging and impactful research undertaken by our students. This year's conference featured studies in neuroscience and psychology, innovative investigations in sociology and much more.

The SRC is an essential platform for students to share their ideas, engage in stimulating discussions, and collaborate with peers and professionals. We are immensely proud of the dedication and hard work displayed by all participants and grateful for the opportunity to support and celebrate their contributions to their respective fields.

Sending warm greetings from Paris! 🇫🇷 Our student Karolina is having an incredible study abroad experience at EFAP. Recently, she had the opportunity to attend an event at the Embassy of Czech Republic in Paris on March 22nd.
