The red cross emblem is not a first aid or medical sign. It is not a religious or political symbol and it is not a general logo to be used in other ways by organisations or individuals. Unauthorised use of the emblems is forbidden in international and national law.

The red cross emblem is a visible sign in armed conflict of the protection given to the medical services, equipment and buildings of the armed forces under international law. This emblem must remain universally recognized and respected throughout the world as a trusted symbol of protection, neutrality and humanitarian aid in the face of armed conflict and disaster.

“Ukraine is not a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court ("ICC" or the "Court"), so cannot itself refer the situation to my Office. But it has twice exercised its prerogatives to legally accept the Court's jurisdiction over alleged crimes under the Rome Statute occurring on its territory, should the Court choose to exercise it. Die Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe rechnet damit, dass diese Zahl in den kommenden Tagen und Wochen massiv steigen wird und bittet dringend um Spenden.

Le nouveau guide pratique sur les conflits d’intérêts dans l’entreprise de l’Agence française anticorruption (AFA) vise à accompagner les entreprises, leurs dirigeants ainsi que les professionnels de la conformité dans l’appréhension de la problématique des conflits d’intérêts au regard du risque de corruption, dans l’identification des situations à risque et dans la définition de mesures permettant de les prévenir et de les gérer.

Der Verhaltenskodex von Malteser International widmet sich in einem eigenen Abschnitt der Vermeidung von Interessenkonflikten und betont, wie wichtig diese zur effektiven Korruptionsbekämpfung ist.

Mir gefällt auch, dass der Verhaltenskodex zudem mehrere Beispiele von Situationen aufführt, in denen es im Rahmen der Tätigkeit von Malteser International zu Interessenkonflikten kommen kann. Dies macht den Text noch verständlicher und praktikabler! 👍💡

Conflicts of interest may arise in the course of humanitarian and development work when, for example, decisions are taken on the selection of staff, suppliers, service providers, and partner organizations. However, they can also arise when decisions are made regarding the locations where Malteser International will operate, and the staff making these decisions have connections to particular potential beneficiary locations or groups. This may especially be the case when staff and/or their family members hold business interests in a supplier or service provider that Malteser International intends to do business with, when persons related to Malteser International staff are considered for employment, or when staff are affiliated with another organization.“
