Hello lovely people! It’s been quite a while, I know. I gave myself a break from posting and also from drawing this summer, as I felt a deep need to spend time outside and (more importantly) with people.

Now it’s getting colder and I can feel the urge to draw and doodle again slowly crawling up. So I think I‘ll slowly reactivate this platform as a place to share ideas and to connect with you! 🖤

PS: don’t mind the motif - I just tried out today for the first time and thats what happens when you slightly escalate and try out all brushes in one canvas 😄

While drawing I always start with a basic pattern which means adding lines and lines and lines until it feels crowded enough. And then the best part begins: filling the blank spaces with dots and circles and more lines and shades and….you name it until it feels complete. 😌

What does your creative process looks like? Do you go through different stages as well?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of cities lately. They can be a home, they can be a target, they can be a symbol of victory or defeat. They can feel like jail or make you feel complete.

I can not imagine how the people fleeing them right now feel and what it is like to know that the place where you bought your groceries, walked your dog, met friends, had coffee or maybe grew up will never be the same again.

I wished that it could work like the book „Invisible Cities“ by Italo Calvino, a collection of short descriptions of imaginary cities. Where you can just turn the page, jump from place to place, the city is whatever you imagine it to be and you can settle wherever you want to.

It’s so nice to be able to enjoy the market without ski wear and heating pads ☀️

I think the world needs a reason to honk right now. I know I do, besides so many emotions that are flooding up the past days, OKAY is definitely not one of them. Facing the fact that the struggle we’ve all been through for years now with the pandemic is being topped by a war of aggression leaves me like so many people with a feeling of overload. At the same time I‘m reminded to be grateful for things that I sometimes take for granted and it warms my heart to see the love and loyalty that is happening between people and nations. We need more of that! It should not be special or an exception but basic behavior.

I bow to the unbroken spirit of Ukraine. 💙💛 I want every Russian standing up to the government to know that the world sees you. Everyone fleeing to know that they are more than welcome!

Which is your favorite motif?

Trying new things with my art is my resolution for this year. I know a lot of people feel differently but I really like when things and habits change. It keeps everything in motion and makes you stay grounded and humble because nothing is too fixed and therefore nothing is too important in the big game and you are allowed to try.

Long intro - fact is I‘m trying 3 new techniques this year: one I already showed off because I had no idea linoprinting was so much fun. Also I wanna try collages with integrated drawing and then I‘ll make one of my secret wishes come true and try out a tattooing machine 🤗

No worries, I‘m not ruining anyone‘s skin (yet). I got a training machine and will only practice on fake skin. I just wanna try out different ways of getting all the ideas out of my head. So… we‘ll see I guess.

What‘s something new you want to try this year?

I‘m pretty sure this is what a persons mind looks like (ask every scientist, they‘ll say I‘m right). Its a sphere where good and bad thoughts, ideas, love, sadness, creativity, doubt, excitement, anger and pure happiness bump into each other, fight for their rightful space and sometimes even merge into something new. What an exciting and sometimes exhausting chaos!

Work in progress 😌 Guys, yesterday it just struck me again how deeply happy drawing makes me. It’s my haven and I totally forget about time and anything else. Can you relate?

Sunday was funday and I finally got to try out colors on my linoprints and made some bookmarks. 🌈 Which one do you like most?

I love that with this technique I can also just start cutting and surprise myself with the end result. ✨

Well… I went to the art supply store and god, these businesses will be the reason why I end up broke! As always I only went to get one (!) item but found 100 things I absolutely NEEDED! … Like a linoleum cutter.

To make myself feel less guilty I tried it out immediately and what can I say - I think I found a new passion 🙌🏼 It’s so much fun to freestyle all over the softcut mat! The outcome was a surprise until the very end but I actually really like it. My brother called it a „nice rug“ (big fan) So what do you guys think? Do you like this technique for lost in lines patterns?

The last year is still a bit surreal for me. I finally became self-employed – a step that brought great relief even though it's not always been easy. But it gave me the chance to find more time for LOST IN LINES and what has happened since (and it's only been half a year!) leaves me speechless. I never thought that so many people would take part in my heart project. I still can't believe that I really have my own shop and am allowed to do commissioned work for others. Never before have I had something that challenged me so much and made me so happy at the same time. Beeing able to draw that much gives me deep inner peace, every hour on the market with is worth its weight in gold and every dear, kind word from all of you goes deep into my heart. Thank you!

I‘m curious: What’s something you always wanted to be able to do but were too lazy to really try?

In my case: I admire people who can sew their own cloths (really like… is there anything cooler?) 🙌🏼 Well, I already fail at picking up my sewing machine from my parents place, so…
