For the second game of the 2024/2025 Ü30 league campaign, we hosted FCXB/SV Hansa 07 on our home turf at the Lobeck Sportplatz on a chilly Friday evening.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
Fielding a full squad today - including our new recruits Liam, Juan and Ari playing their debut match - we had a great start to the game and within five minutes of play, Dragoş scored our first goal of the season with a cracking shot for the 1-0.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
With the early goal giving us the boost of confidence to move forward and go for the second, we created a few more promising chances, but it also meant leaving our defence open for counter attacks... This didn't go unnoticed by our opponent, who took full advantage of the open space twice to turn the game around and make it 1-2 at halftime...
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
In the beginning of the second half we were able to take control of the game - doggedly pressing forward over the flanks and playing some inviting passes in to the opponent's box - and it looked liked it would only be a matter of time until we would get the equaliser.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
Against the run of play, however, it was the Hansa players who once again scored, with their two strikers suddenly finding themselves in a 2vs1 situation against our goalie Eric and clinically using the advantage to make it 1-3. A bit of a bummer, to say the least, considering that we came so close to scoring on numerous occasions before this unfortunate goal… There were a few more close chances on both sides, but in the end, neither team were able to further capitalise before the final whistle.

Derby time! On a very warm and sunny Saturday morning, we kicked off the new season in the Ü30 league on the Metro Fußballhimmel rooftop pitch (former FCKP training ground) against our old rivals THC Franziskaner FC.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
We started the game fairly well, keeping possession and passing the ball around nicely, but only a few minutes into the game, a loose ball in midfield was picked up by our opponent and driven home from long distance to make it 1-0.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
Not deterred by this minor setback, though, we started to take control of the game again, now pushing further up the field, but still lacking any clear goal scoring opportunities before the end of the first half.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
With heads held high and all to play for in the second half, we kept on going for goal, but once again, the opponent's compact defense just wouldn't let any of our efforts on goal through, and with our team pressing high up the field in the dying minutes of the game, the THC striker took advantage of the open space in our half and sealed the deal with another long distance shot to make the end result 2-0.

Despite the result, it was an overall solid performance by our lads with many positives to build on. Thanks to THC Franziskaner FC for the fair match and good luck for the rest of the season!;)

On a swelteringly hot Wednesday night, we invited SC Falco Subbuteo to our home turf to play the second preseason friendly in preparation for the league.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
The first half can only be described as a hard fought battle with both teams creating many chances, but the ball just didn't want to find the back of the net. 0-0 at halftime.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
The start to the second half didn't exactly go to plan (let's blame it on the unbearable heat😜), but we were still slightly disorganised and quickly ended up going down 0-2 just after the break. Following a few tactical changes, we gave it another shot, creating some promising chances, but once again not finding the back of the net...
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
With the lads now pressing high for the goal, our defense was left vulnerable, and the opponent took advantage of a counter attack to make it 0-3. Undeterred, we kept on pushing forward and were finally rewarded with a goal, following an assist by Clément and a thumping shot by Ari into the bottom left corner to make the score 1-3, just before the last 10 minutes of play.

With the game drawing to end and our players evermore determined to at least get the second goal - if not the equaliser - we went all in! However, it was not to be today, and it was another well executed counter attack by the opponent that sealed the deal, making the final score 1-4.

Tonight, a full FCKP squad played their first preseason friendly against Utopia Berlin, one of our former rivals in the Bunte Liga.

After a slow start to the game, and going down 0-1 following a well played attack by our opponent, the lads finally pulled it together, first equalising with a goal by Johannes, and then going up 2-1 just before halftime with a fantastic header by Mischa after a curling corner delivery by David.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
The second half was full of chances for both teams and many vital saves by Tolga, but then just before the end of the game, Johannes picked up the ball from a defensive mistake by the opponent, and cooly slotted it home for the 3-1 win.

A very promising overall team effort today and thanks to Utopia Berlin for the fun and fair game.

Due to the heavy snowfall expected over the next few days, unfortunately our last league game before the winter break against SG Raddatz II has been postponed to a later date.

With no more games until the new year, the last official fixture will be our club's general annual meeting on the 16th of December, where we will be reviewing the past year, discussing the club's future and possibly sharing a festive drink or two.

On an extremely cold and wet Friday evening, a twelve man strong FCKP squad welcomed BSG Stadler on our home turf to play the sixth game of the 2023/24 campaign, and with both sides sitting at the bottom of the table - having been unable to garner any points so far this season - it looked like it was going to be a tight encounter between the two teams.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
This, however, was not to be the case....
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
From the get go our lads took control of the run of play, not giving the opponent any time on the ball, creating chance after chance, but still lacking the precision in our finishing. Midway through the first half our determination then finally paid off with Rashid guiding the ball in to the back of the net to make it 1-0. Another two goals by Vincent and David before halftime then gave us a comfortable lead going into the break.

Determined to finally get our first win of the season, we soldiered on in the second half (now on a snow/slush covered pitch) and our efforts were soon rewarded with so many goals (scored by James, Dragoş, Utz, "el capitano" Johannes, Clément, Rashid and David), we almost lost count... Thankfully, though, the ref had been paying more attention to the scoreline and by the end of the game he was able to convince us that we had "only" won 15-0.

What a fantastic team effort overall and a great confidence booster for our last league match before the winter break against SG Raddatz II.

Friendly Game

On 17th November we were hosted by the relatively newly formed team FC Ballertdasdarein ("FC bang it in") for a friendly match, which was our first 7-a-side match in over a month after having to forfeit our last away league game due to a lack of available players.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
It was a wet, cold and windy late autumn evening, and we were to travel to the depths of Marzahn with a relatively small matchday squad. Despite a further scare when two players cancelled last minute, we could scramble two guest players to brave the weather and save us from an unfortunate late postponement: Corné (South Africa) and Miguel (Columbia).
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
As only three of us turned up half an hour before the game and warmed up in the cold rain, while the 12+ strong opponent gave the impression of unison by warming up as a team, we started to question our decisions to turn up and whether a relaxed Friday evening cuddling a blanket on the couch would have been more comfortable. By the time it was 20:00 and the ref blew the whistle to gather the teams together on the pitch, we were 7 strong and in good spirits and started with togetherness and focus.
​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​
In the early stages of the game we were able to dominate and play some slick football, cutting incisively through their defence and create goal chances, while not conceding many chances. In a whirlwind of movement and accurate, low passes, we often found ourselves free in front of their goal and were able to go 4-0 up, with goals from Johannes, Corné and Jon. We went into the break 4-1 up after conceding a goal, which was a reward for their hard efforts to split our defence and find space in front of our goal.

In the second half, we slowed the game down, with a couple of us nursing slight injuries. Luckily, Miguel had turned up shortly before half-time, allowing us the luxury of a substitution. We were able to preserve the scoreline, even adding a fifth through Miguel.

We were proud of a great team performance despite the less than ideal conditions and thanked the opponent for a fair match.
