Have you ever used the peel of citrus fruits for seasoning or decoration? If not, it's high time you did! Regardless of which Metabolic Balance phase you're in or whether you have citrus fruits on your plan, the peels of organic lemons, oranges, grapefruits, mandarins, etc., can wonderfully enhance your dishes.
Please ensure you use organic quality, as the peel of conventional citrus fruits is heavily contaminated! Simply wash the fruit, pat it dry, then use a zester to peel fine strips, grate it finely, or peel the whole fruit, dry the peel, and grind it with a mixer. The zest tastes refreshing in breakfast yogurt or oatmeal, gives Asian dishes a fantastic kick, and is also a secret tip for soups or salads.
Tip: Press parchment paper onto a grater so that the prongs push through, then grate. Afterwards, simply remove the paper to avoid the hassle of scraping between the grater's gaps.

Through a healthy and varied diet, one feels physically fitter 💪, has significantly more energy 🚀, is less often sick, and sleeps better 😴. Healthy nutrition also means less stress for the body. The organism does not have to deal with harmful substances, nor does it lack vital nutrients.
A sufficient amount of fluids, plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, healthy fats and proteins, and meal breaks allowing the body to recover, ensure more energy.

Sometimes we get the question, whether one must stick to the food list from the Metabolic Balance Plan forever. The clear answer is: No! Eating only certain foods and excluding all others would eventually become too monotonous and not healthy.
The goal of the Metabolic Balance program is to rebalance the metabolism (by following the list) and then gradually reintroduce all foods, while observing how they affect you. Over time, you develop a sense of what your body needs, and you should then base your food choices on that.
Do you have a favorite recipe with carrots? We love them in every variation. ❤️🥕❤️
After shopping, carrots should be taken out of their packaging immediately and preferably stored in the vegetable compartment in the refrigerator. The greens from a bunch of carrots should be removed right away, as otherwise the carrots wilt and become soft more quickly. But it's too good to throw away, as it's perfect for a green smoothie! Simply blend the greens from three carrots with 400 milliliters of water, 150 grams of baby spinach or romaine lettuce, and fruit (e.g. peeled orange, mango, and/or a banana), and a tablespoon of flaxseed oil in a blender!
By the way, did you know that the naturally occurring alpha and beta carotenes, as precursors of vitamin A, make carrots the healthy "eye and skin vegetable"? In addition, they contain vitamins B and E, and a high content of minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, and iron, as well as the dietary fiber pectin.
Always add a little oil to the carrots because the fat-soluble vitamins contained in them otherwise cannot unfold their effect.
Tip: If the carrots become "limp" or wilted, simply wrap them in a damp kitchen towel or soak them in water, and they will become crisp again. This tip applies to all types of root vegetables.

On World Health Day, the WHO commemorates its founding in 1948. Since 1954, it has been celebrated annually on April 7th.
It's a good opportunity to remember the significant impact that nutrition has on our health. 🥗💪

The whole Metabolic Balance Team wishes you and your loved ones a wonderful Easter and relaxing holidays!
Easter is just around the corner. It's the time when most eggs are consumed. But what's actually packed into a chicken egg? On average, about nine grams of protein, eight grams of fat, essential Omega-3 fatty acids, almost all minerals, and vitamins except for Vitamin C.
No wonder it's an indispensable part of a health-conscious cuisine: "The dietary protein it contains is biologically very high quality and can be converted very well into the body's own protein – necessary for muscle building, cell renewal, and the production of enzymes and hormones," says Silvia Bürkle, nutrition scientist at Metabolic Balance.

Today is World Happiness Day. Our diet has a significant impact on our mood. We know: good food in good company brings good vibes.
Also, blood sugar levels play an important role in our mood. Consuming refined carbohydrates and sugary foods can lead to quick energy spikes followed by crashes, which can result in mood swings. It's better to opt for complex carbohydrates like whole grains and fiber-rich foods to ensure steady energy supply.
And with some foods, you can get an extra boost of happiness. The following foods contain L-tryptophan, the precursor to the happiness hormone serotonin, and you can eat yourself happy and healthy:
★ Salmon
★ Oatmeal
★ Almonds
★ Pumpkin and sunflower seeds
★ Avocados
Enjoy your meal!

Not only for our bodies but also for our mental fitness, the right diet plays an important role.
Our brain requires a variety of nutrients to function optimally. These include omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. A balanced diet can help promote the performance of our brain.
Also, gut health plays a significant role in our mental fitness. A healthy gut contributes to the production of neurotransmitters that influence our mood and cognitive function.
One must not forget the importance of adequate hydration as well. When we are dehydrated, it can negatively affect cognitive function and lead to mood swings.
By consciously shaping our diet and paying attention to a balanced and nutrient-rich diet, we can improve not only our physical health but also our mental fitness. 🌟💪

We should pause more often and praise and celebrate ourselves for all that we have already achieved. Whether they are small steps or big leaps!
Celebrate yourself when you take the stairs instead of the elevator, when you choose a healthy and balanced meal over fast food. Be proud of yourself when you resist the many sweet temptations, but also when you allow yourself what you need. Feel free to shower yourself with praise for all that you accomplish and achieve daily, but don't forget to praise yourself when you take the breaks and downtime you need.
Write down all your small and big goals and regularly check which ones you have achieved and which ones you are currently working on. Also, jot down your praise and what you are proud of.
Read these entries regularly, and you will notice how your motivation grows to take all the steps necessary on the path to a healthy you.

The popular vegetable contains protein (1g/100g), vitamin B1, vitamin C, as well as plenty of iron, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus. Due to its sulfur-containing components, it promotes digestion, has disinfecting properties, and enhances the performance of the liver and gallbladder. Moreover, it has been proven to lower blood sugar. Those benefits can be achieved only when used raw. Very finely chopped, leek can be consumed raw without any concerns. But of course, you can also enjoy it cooked. If leek causes bloating, it is usually because it has been over-fertilized. Adding plenty of caraway and fennel seeds as spices can prevent this effect.👍

We all know that refined sugar is bad for our health. Unfortunately, most people still eat too much of it. With a Metabolic Balance Plan, this won't happen to you. Your body will thank you: If you abstain from any sweeteners for a certain period and only consume the sugar that fresh foods naturally contain, you will quickly notice how good it is for you!

Next Wednesday (14.2.) lent begins. Many people abstain from sweets, alcohol, meat, or sugar for 40 days starting then. Do you also plan to use this time for a healthier lifestyle?
Focus not only on what you exclude but also be aware of what you do for your body during this time: three healthy meals a day, enough water, three servings of fruits/vegetables daily, and you will soon notice how good you feel.
Use your Metabolic Balance plan for guidance or contact a coach in your area for support.

Mushrooms in Metabolic Balance: Protein source or vegetables? In addition to the well-known protein sources such as fish, meat, poultry, eggs, and cow's milk products, vegetarian protein sources such as soy products, legumes, sprouts, nuts, and seeds, as well as mushrooms, are also included. However, when it comes to mushrooms, a distinction is made between protein source and vegetables. Oyster and shiitake mushrooms are classified into the protein group. They can be used fresh or dried, and can be stir-fried in a wok or pan. All other mushrooms, such as button mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, or chanterelles, are considered vegetables and can be combined with a different protein source.
The reason for this lies in the biological value, which provides information about how much body protein the organism can build from the protein content of a food.
Myth!
While many people actually lose weight on their Metabolic Balance journey, the program offers a holistic and personalised approach to health and wellness. ✨⠀
For some participants, Metabolic Balance can be beneficial for maintaining a healthy weight, supporting muscle gain, improving energy levels, balancing hormones, addressing digestive issues, and enhancing overall vitality! 💚

Chinese Cabbage is not only delicious and healthy but, compared to most other cabbage varieties, also easier to digest. Additionally, it is rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid, and fiber. These nutrients play a crucial role in supporting the immune system, blood clotting, cell renewal, and digestion.
In the kitchen, Chinese cabbage can be used in a variety of ways. Whether raw in salads, steamed, grilled, or as an ingredient in soups and stir-fries – the possibilities are almost endless. Its mild flavor also makes it appealing to people who are not usually enthusiastic about cabbage vegetables. What is your favorite way to prepare Chinese cabbage? Let us know in the comments.
Tracking your progress with Metabolic Balance can be a game changer. By maintaining a journal to record your meals, exercise, progress, and even your emotions, you're creating a valuable tool for self-discovery. ⠀
Documenting your steps allows you to identify patterns, like how certain foods affect your mood or energy levels or how regular exercise improves your sleep quality. Recognizing these patterns empowers you to make conscious decisions that align with your unique body and lifestyle. Furthermore, it is very valuable to flip through your records and see how far you have come!
So, stay committed and continue working towards your goals with Metabolic Balance!

Red cabbage makes its most prominent appearance as a classic side dish to game, duck, and goose roasts and is, therefore, often indispensable in Christmas kitchens. Its red color is not cultivated but is a variation of nature. The pigment anthocyanin, present in red berries and red wine, also acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Scientifically proven is also the cancer-inhibiting and cholesterol-lowering effect of this flavonoid. Red cabbage is rich in vitamins -Especially vitamins C, B6, and E - and fiber, making it an important source of nutrients.
