Wir sind überglücklich! ✨
Unser Teammitglied Ruben ist nach Südafrika gereist, um dort mit allen Beteiligten die lokale Organisation zu gründen, die es uns erlauben wird unsere WEpads-Binden zu produzieren und zu verkaufen. Anschließend besuchte das gesamte Team noch die Fabrik (www.airwrap.co.za), in der unsere Maschine zukünftig stehen darf. Auf dieser Empore werden dann unsere Binden hergestellt 😍

Our team member Ruben traveld to South Africa in order to set up the local organization with all parties involved in the process. This organization will allow us to produce and sell our WEpads pads in Soth Africa. Afterwards the whole team visited the factory (www.airwrap.co.za) where our machine will be located in the future. On this gallery our pads will be produced 😍

WEpads - Cost-effective sustainable pads for schoolgirls and women in South Africa
WEpads stands for strengthening the independence of women in Africa. Currently about 1/3 of the schoolgirls in South Africa have a considerable disadvantage in education because they cannot go to school during their period. The reason for this is depressing: there is simply no money and no access to feminine hygiene products. This problem is called "period poverty". We learned about this problem during an excursion to South Africa with the University of Wuppertal and it became clear to us that we need to change this.
Our vision is to fight "Period Poverty" in Africa.
We believe that education about menstruation, hygiene, as well as the provision of inexpensive products, are essential factors. After some initial experience with our own prototypes, we found that this global problem can be solved best with a strong network. Together with our partners in South Africa and India, we are working on a sustainable long-term solution by producing cost-effective, biodegradable pads.
