GON094: Taagebue - Soltaagens Skikkelser

Enchanting atmospheric dungeon synth from Denmark. ‘Soltaagens Skikkelser’ is the competent debut full length of Taagebue, which received a good amount of praise following its digital publication in autumn of 2021. Long spiralling compositions unfold with soaring melodies and an ethereal sound. A steady rhythm ensures an energetic expression, which keeps a determined flow towards ambitious conclusions. The project presents itself with references to an esoteric Danish folklore, but adding to it with poetic flair and the particularly fitting visual works of Theodor Kittelsen.

This is the first time a fellow Dane is welcomed under the Gondolin banner, as the other Danish projects (Henbane, Moth Tower and Old Glow) were already longtime acquaintances before the label started. Taagebue is the solo project of S. Garðarsson, who is also in the prolific black metal projects Ildskær and Í Myrkri.

‘Soltaagens Skikkelser’ will be available in preorder as limited edition pro tape together with Anglachel, Wydraddear and Amn through the Gondolin Bandcamp page, March 27th, 2200 CEST.

Info regarding the vinyl releases:

- Combined shipping on tape and vinyl orders to the same destination. Buying all four tapes also covers the entire shipping cost for both the LP releases worldwide.

- The Utred 2xLP is released in collaboration with Out Of Season. All 200 copies come in the same type of hand-numbered custom sleeve as used on other Gondolin vinyl releases, but with 100 of them releasing on the same date through the OOS store in USA.

- Unfortunately the previously announced vinyl releases with Umbría and An Old Sad Ghost will not be going ahead as planned after all because of a manufacturing error. Apologies for the premature announcement the other day. A solution is being worked on to make both releases available as soon as possible at a later date instead.

Forthcoming releases from the Ñoldorin tape and vinyl forges:

These three tape releases will be offered without a preordering phase in late October. Combined shipping with the two tape releases on the Galvorn Records side-label: Tyrant Moon and An Old Sad Ghost in preorder on Sept 29th.

Four LP-releases are currently in production. All are existing Gondolin releases being reissued on the vinyl format. They will be unveiled once there is certainty about which ones will be a part of the next Gondolin vinyl release day.

Further tape release days in the coming months and into 2022 will feature more exceptional dungeon synth projects new and old: Faery Ring, Taagebue, Isegrimm, An Old Sad Ghost, Anglachel, Tears Ov Blood (Secret Stairways) and Wydraddear.

This amazing project is being hosted and organized by the legendary venue 1000Fryd, to celebrate their 40th anniversary.
