Today our little Angel turns 14. A journey filled with many beautiful little moments to savour and cherish. She made it look so easy and as parents we are truly fortunate to have her in our corner. As a father I am lucky enough to still tuck her in at night and have one last bedtime discussion before she falls asleep. The journey continues. ❤

We received a consignment of fresh oysters today from the oyster farms of David Herve': Royale Oysters and well as the incredible Peter Pan Oysters. The best way to start the weekend served with a glass of bubbly!
Our pies for tomorrow include Feta with spinach and ricotta, Beef cooked in Baltic Porter beer, Spicy chicken curry and Chicken with bacon.
We are also launching our new dessert tomorrow: Malva Pudding. We will have our milk tarts for sale. Try it with our legendary pots of coffee or a pot of tea.

Cafe Cape Town Host First Oyster Feast at Balti Jaama Turg!
This Saturday 3 June Cafe Cape Town will host the first Oyster Feast at Balti Jaama Turg from 12h00 till 18h00. Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Methode Cap Classic will be our bubbly to accompany the oysters. We were lucky enough to get DAVID HERVÉ, one of the premier growers of Oysters in France to join us on Saturday. Side by side we will shuck your oysters and David will be able to answer your questions on the variety of Oysters we will serve on the day! We will also offer a small selection of Caviar. We can also shuck oyster for you to take away for a picnic.

DAVID HERVÉ SINCE 1939
The passion for oyster farming has been in the Hervé family’s blood for three generations. It is a passion embodied by patience, hard work and, naturally, an enduring love for the art of oyster farming and the saltwater marshlands of THE MARENNES-OLÉRON BASIN.
Nowadays, David Hervé employs the same traditional method as in his grandfather’s day, whereby oysters are meticulously selected, raised and then « finished in claires» for six to eight months, with one and a half oysters per square metre.
Today, A THREE-HECTARE OYSTER PARK AT SEA allows the farm to produce 100% locally farmed oysters that enjoy the benefits of ATLANTIC OCEAN currents.
David Hervé selects THE VERY BEST QUALITY SPECIMENS in Brittany, Ireland, Spain and Portugal from oyster farmers that respect the company’s ethical code of conduct and high standards of quality.
From Paris to the South of France, and Milan to Hong Kong, David Hervé has today built a shining reputation thanks to a large network of restaurateurs, sales points and distributors, all of which have chosen to “share the exceptional” with their customers.
Our beef soup is at its best today. Slow cooked beef broth with vegetables in season and meatballs. Our pies for today are Chakalaka (spicy vegetable curry), Feta with spinach and ricotta and Grana Padano cheese, Beef cooked in dark beer with a hint of Raw chillies from South Africa! Biltong available at 7.50 € per 100 grams. Tomorrow and Saturday we will have our delicious Milktarts with some of the finest pots of coffee or Rooibos tea.
It has been 1 year since we opened Café Cape Town at Balti Jaama Turg. It has been a great journey in spite of the challenges. Looking forward to a great new year! 😊

We offer an unforgettable, unpretentious value for money meal in a splendid pastry pocket of superior quality using only the best locally sourced ingredients. Bobotie is one of South Africa’s most beloved dishes and is revered all over the country of my birth. It is also the oldest recorded recipe in South African culinary history. It is for this reason that we have chosen Bobotie as the name of our company as well as the staple in our line of pies.
Our pies are individually handmade by our skilled baker who rises at the crack of dawn to bring you the freshest and warmest pies. Pies are made fresh every day.
Our Bobotie Pie, the first in a line of 5 variations of savoury pies is made with 100 beef that is specially prepared for us and supplied by the Estonian Meat Market . It is infused with 15 different kinds of herbs and spices, sweet apricots, chutney and enlivened with fresh ginger and lemon. In the words of one of our satisfied customers, a baker: ‘I could not believe when I had my first bite. Under the fluffy pastry hides an explosion of flavours, a perfect balance of spices with a little sweetness, juicy meat cooked to perfection-I had to have a second one.’
The pies are currently selling at 3.50 Euro every day Monday to Friday from 11h30 till 18h00 at Lola Green, 60M, Telliskivi, next to the Nudist Winery.
