Top Tips for Enhanced Security!
1- Create unique, complex passwords for each account and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters.
2- Enable the two factor authentication (2FA) whenever possible because it adds an extra layer of protection, requiring a second form of verification, such as a code sent to your phone, in addition to your password.
3- Regularly update your operating system, apps, and antivirus software. These updates often include security patches to protect against new threats.
4- Stay alert for suspicious emails, texts, or messages asking for personal information. Be cautious with links and attachments from unknown sources.
5- Regularly backup important files to an external drive or secure cloud storage. In case of a data breach or ransomware attack, you'll have a safe copy of your information.
6- Encrypt sensitive files and communications to ensure unauthorized access is thwarted, even if your data falls into the wrong hands.
7- When accessing the internet on public Wi-Fi or untrusted networks, use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to encrypt your internet connection and protect your data from prying eyes.
8- Restrict access to sensitive data only to those who need it for their roles. Regularly review and revoke unnecessary access rights.
9- Stay informed about the latest cyber threats and educate your team about data security best practices. Knowledge is a powerful defense.
10- When getting rid of old devices or storage media, ensure they are properly wiped or destroyed to prevent data retrieval by unauthorized individuals.
