In the land of mismatched socks and fashion faux pas galore,
I embarked on a journey, oh what a closet-clearing uproar!
A clothes swap on the horizon, excitement in the air,
I crashed into my wardrobe with a determined flair.

Old jeans with holes, they've seen better days,
I bid them adieu in a comical ballet.
"Goodbye, my denim companion, you've served me so well,
But it's time for a swap, where new stories will dwell!"

The sweater with colours from a bygone days,
I wondered, "Was it stylish or just a fashion phase?"
Into the swap pile, it gracefully descended,
Hoping its next owner won't be fashion offended.

Oh, the tangled mess of scarves in a knot,
A conundrum, a puzzle, I will drop in the lot
I wrestled with the fabrics, in a hilarious ballet,
Till victory was mine, and they joined the swap array.

Shoes that pinched, heels that betrayed,
They were ousted with laughter, no regrets displayed.
"Walk a mile in someone else's shoes," they say,
So off to the swap, my footwear boogied away.

The closet echoes with laughter and glee,
As garments gather for a swap party spree.
One woman's trash is another's chic delight,
In this merry exchange, everything feels just right.

So, join the fashion fiesta, let the party begin
March the 1st we swap and spin
In this comedy of couture, where stories unfold,
One out-of-date shirt is another's vintage gold!

Lumumba

Hot Lumumba with brandy
Type Long drink
Ingredients Cocoa, rum
A Lumumba (Død tante, German: Tote Tante [dead aunt]) is a long drink named after Congolese politician Patrice Lumumba.[1] The term Død tante/Tote Tante is used on the western coast of Denmark, Northern Germany and the Netherlands, where the drink is the counterpart to the Pharisäer with coffee.

The drink consists of cocoa, sometimes accompanied by cream, and a shot of rum. Some alternatives replace the rum with amaretto or brandy: a popular version in Spain during La Movida Madrileña used the local chocolate milk drinks Cacaolat or Okey with a shot of Spanish brandy, such as Fundador or Soberano.

Depending on whether the hot or cold cocoa is used, the result is a Hot Lumumba or a Cold Lumumba.
The picture on the right is the Indian version. I am reminded of my iced lattes. Sometimes it is hard to describe to a waiter what you want.

Happy kids, they have computers and they are really excited. We met the wonderful Avayam Bhardwaj who is part of the team from QuillBot.com who so generously provided Five Computers. All brand new with keyboards and screens. Now we are raising funds for the desks, the installation and the electrician. When all of that is done. They need connecting to internet . It has been suggested an air con unit because it gets very hot in the summer. These kids have never touched a computer so basics need to be taught. Anyone wishing to volunteer some teaching, Nitin Sharma would love to hear from you. Perhaps you would like to help run a fund raising event. Bringing Christmas Magic to Saksham School: A Journey of Joy and Support

It has been a remarkable journey, one filled with heartwarming moments and the pure joy of making a difference. Nitin and Deepti, the incredible minds behind Saksham School in India, welcomed me and three friends with open arms. Together, we embarked on a mission to witness first hand what has always ignited my excitement during visits to India.

Today, our visit to the school was a reunion of sorts. The vibrant paintings we created earlier this year adorned the walls of the playground, serving as a living testament to the memories forged during my last visit. As expected, the children greeted us with their infectious happiness.

Your unwavering support has been the backbone of our endeavours. We had the privilege of meeting a group of mothers who, fuelled by your contributions, have crafted incredible garments for sale. The funds generated have gone towards sustaining a sewing teacher, and I'm delighted to report that the sewing room is once again a hive of creativity and productivity thanks to you guys. Reflecting on our past initiatives, where we created a safe playground area and supported administrative costs, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride. To witness the tangible results of the collective efforts from friends and fundraising initiatives like clothes swaps this past summer is genuinely rewarding.

However, our journey doesn't end here; the next challenge awaits us.

The Saksham School kids are in for an EPIC Christmas surprise! Thanks to the generosity of a tech company, five brand-new computers are set to arrive on December 21st, just in time for the festivities. Yes there will be a Xmas party and cake is involved🌟🎅

But, and there's always a 'but,' we've hit a small roadblock – we need desks! 😱

Here's where YOU come in! 🌈 We're on a mission to raise a minimum of 300 Euros to secure desks, set up the computers, and even bring in a superhero electrician to work some socket magic! 🔌✨

We had such a fantastic morning making wreaths out of fabric scraps I am happy to do another for people who could not make the last one. That is if there is enough people interested. All materials provided. Please let me know. They are great for decorations or Xmas gifts. If you cannot do a Friday morning I’m happy for you to suggest another day.

What to do with a lot of fabric scraps……rag wreath, workshop and recycle group, I have all the materials , just bring your own scissors. This will be fun and everyone can do it. 10 Euros and you will make your own wreath using scrap fabrics . Friday 17th Nov. upstairs bar at Casa Claudia’s Jalon 10.30 until 12.30. Please comment if you want to come.

Every Thursday come and walk with us, we meet at Casa Claudia’s 9.00 or 9.15 outside tourist office. Gentle walking, for an hour and half followed by breakfast in Jalon.
