Red Veined Sorrel - Next level microgreens 🌱
An amazing microgreen for summer salads and soups.
Surprisingly strong in flavour and nutrient powers:

It’s not only a beauty to look at with its elegant red veins.
It also brings this zesty-citrus sorrel flavour to the table.
Both sour, and slightly bitter. An amazing flavour enhancer!

It has the highest concentration of Beta Carotene.
Your body converts this into vitamin A.
Making it a powerful source for antioxidants!

To grow red veined sorrel, you need to be patient.
Take 3-4 weeks at least for the micro-greens.
And make sure the plant has enough access to nutrients

try this borage microgreen - cucumber - lemonade!

Per litre of water:
🎾 zest and juice of 1 organic lime
🍋 juice of half an organic lemon
🍋slices of the other half of lemon
🥒 slices of half a cucumber
🌱 home grown borage microgreens, lightly crushed

Let sit for an hour, so the flavours get to their max.
Serve with lots of ice-cubes!

🍃 Also great in this mix are lemon basil microgreens

Extra cool…. freeze some borage flowers in the ice-cubes

When we were just about to scale up our microgreen business again.
Building prototypes of our automated low-tech cultivation systems and preparing our move to the new location.

5 years fast forward at InstaGreen….

We finally have the perfect 1020-tray! Why are we so excited?

1) Because of their perfect size: 50 × 26.5 × 3.3 cm, you can fit exactly 4 of these trays with holes in each smart watering tray of the InstaGreen system, not wasting any valuable space. (most 1020 trays are slightly longer and thus far from optimal in size)

2) Because of their heavy-duty-strong quality: extremely durable and robust trays that you can use for years (instead of the usual 1 year max). 100% PP, food safe, BPA free and UV resistant. And made in Europe.

3) Because of their multi-functionality: besides using these trays in our cultivation systems with atomised irrigation, you can also use the same trays when you want to start your farming journey on a smaller scale and hand-water your microgreens.
In that case you can use a combination of 1 tray with holes and 1 or 2 without holes (depending on how you choose to do the black out).

We have been micro gardening 👨‍🌾 with our neighbors from the street of InstaGreen. Today we could harvest 🍅! (A little surprise gift from the compost we added).

We also have a tree house for Ratoncito Pérez (the local version of a tooth fairy, but than in the shape of a 🐭). It’s so 🥰 to hear the reactions of little kids when they encounter his 🏡

Today it’s Earth Overshoot Day.
The day on which we start to use more resources than the planet can regenerate within a year. From today onwards, for the next 5 months ahead, we are in debt with earth.

The climate is changing. Now is also the time for us to change! Many people are already adjusting their own habits, joining forces to inspire others and to change systems.
