Early Challenges
Jordan's journey to greatness was marked by significant challenges and setbacks. In high school, he was famously cut from the varsity basketball team as a sophomore. This early rejection could have discouraged him, but instead, it fueled his determination to prove himself.

Relentless Work Ethic
Motivated by his setback, Jordan committed to an intense training regimen. He spent countless hours practicing, honing his skills, and developing the mindset of a champion. His dedication paid off, and he made the varsity team the following year, quickly becoming a standout player.

College and NBA Career

Listening to an interview with serial entrepreneur Kevin Hart, he just hit the core of where performance begins.

"Understand that it's you against you; nobody else exists outside of you. So, other people can't get the best of you if you don't understand yourself fully. If you don't grasp your full level of capability and maintain a high level of self-love within yourself, and how to nurture it, you won't give it to anybody else. You've got to know yourself; that's how your kids become great, that's how your family members feed off of you because you're emanating the love you have for yourself. If you love yourself, man, this journey is an easy ride. I don't care what challenges you're facing; as long as you love yourself, you're going to be good. Problems are not problems when you have a high level of understanding and confidence that you're going to evolve. I'm always going to be OK, no matter what."

It's not easy to reach the highest levels, but it's even more challenging to stay there and continue to grow. The necessity fades away, so you must find a true purpose to remain driven. 😅 The solution to the problem doesn’t lie in emphasizing the problem but in seeking solutions.

🤔 That sounds quite logical, doesn’t it?

So why do so many people tend to keep pondering over the origin of the challenge?

In that way, you remain stuck in something that solves nothing. Step out of that cycle and start thinking in terms of solutions.

Begin by asking yourself, “What can be done?” You’ll notice that when you pose this question, solutions arise.

Now all you need to do is accept the consequences and move forward!

Yes, exactly! It’s that simple.

P.S. (I prefer to refer to a problem as a challenge. It engages the creative part of your brain rather than reinforcing fear.)

Success is a dynamic journey, especially for athletes. Picture an athlete at their peak, winning everything, praised from all sides. They're the one to beat. But amidst the celebration, there's an internal struggle.

🦁 Being the hunter contrasts with becoming the prey 🦌. It requires a shift in mentality.

🧗‍♂️ Success involves continuous quest for excellence, driven by confidence and risk-taking.

⁉️ What happens when you reach the top? Fear of loss grows. Elite athletes understand this. Valuable lessons come from defeats.

✅ That's why top performers seek performance coaches. This insight comes from a former Formula 1 coach:

1. Winning doesn't mean you're as good as you think.
2. Losing doesn't mean you're as bad as you think.
3. Never play to avoid losing.
4. Always play to win and take risks.

🚀Performance: Dirty word or opportunity for growth?🚀

❓ Is performance something we'd rather steer clear of, or does it present opportunities for growth?

⭕ Often, performance is associated with negative aspects like low self-esteem, burnout, and the constant pressure to meet high expectations. Yet, we collectively enjoy impressive sports achievements and conquering significant challenges?

❌ When someone performs and deviates from societal norms, rejection often follows. The individual is seen as different, changed, and not always positively judged. This can lead to feelings of competition, jealousy, and even peer pressure to conform.

✅ But what if we approached performance differently? What if we saw it as an opportunity to bring out our best selves at the right moments, not to outdo others, but to improve ourselves?

® That's why I'm in the process of setting up this platform, The Performance Coach. A place where like-minded individuals come together to embrace performance as a path to growth and development. We focus on strategies to enhance performance as athletes, entrepreneurs, leaders, or growth seekers.

🌟 When are you at your best? 🌟

In the quest for the ultimate level of performance, it's often difficult to determine when you're truly operating at your peak.

An athlete can measure themselves against others, but for growth seekers or entrepreneurs, it's always a matter of comparing apples to oranges because no situation is identical.

I adopt a fairly simple approach. If you believe you can do better, then there's always room for improvement. When you feel you're at your limit, that becomes your boundary.

In 1926, Violet Percy ran the marathon in Rotterdam in 3 hours and 40 minutes. This was a world record at the time, and no one believed it would ever be broken. It took 37 years before Merry Lepper shaved off just over 3 minutes. However, she believed this was far from her maximum potential. Last September, Tigst Affesa completed the Berlin marathon in 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 53 seconds. Over the course of 100 years, beliefs about maximal performance have changed, undoubtedly influenced by advancements in materials.

What I want to convey is that we often impose our own limits, whether it's aiming for a world record, a behavioral change, or a sales goal. You determine your own limits, and if you truly want to pursue your ambitions, try to believe that the bar can be set higher. Our motto: If you think you've reached your peak, you haven't even tapped into a third of your potential.
