A spoon is a spoon. Or is it? Well, that depends on how you look at it.

We are excited to share our first work for Outokumpu and their incredible Circle Green stainless steel. 100% stainless steel, 8% the carbon footprint and by far the greenest stainless steel in the world.

In an industry generally seen as static and one of the biggest polluters, Outokumpu is a true pioneer working hard on large-scale positive change with real impact. The problem. Although the stainless steel Outokumpu makes is truly outstanding, no one can see the difference.

This problem gave rise to a launch campaign that challenges people’s perception of stainless steel as something that never changes. BOND created the identity for the campaign, concept and copywriting for all medias, including outdoor, print and digital, and finally a launch film about a little spoon in partnership with Cocoa.

Yesterday evening the 10th anniversary of The Transform Awards MEA took place and what a shining success it was for our Dubai studio. Taking home 6 awards for our work with Dubai Holding on Tickit.

About last Friday. Kuldmuna, the annual Best of Estonian Advertising and Design awards show took place for the 25th time, and what a success it was for our Tallinn studio. Taking home 4 Golden Eggs and 1 Silver Egg, plus to crown the night: got recognised as the Design Agency of the Year – for the 2nd year in a row, and for the 3rd time within 5 years.

Everyone knows what a steak is, but cultivated steak? Now we’re moving into new territory.

When Aleph Farms asked us to create the visual identity for not only their brand but their first product brand, Aleph Cuts, as well, our goal was to design a system with the flexibility to speak to the more extensive, mission-based origins of their parent company while also representing the cutting-edge ingenuity of a revolutionary product brand in an individualized, yet cohesive way.

Introducing Aleph Farms, the pioneers of the world’s first cultivated steaks grown from the cells of Lucy, an Angus cow happily living in California.

Aleph is the first letter of one of humanity’s oldest writing systems, represented as the hieroglyph of an ox. And, just as we are turning steak on its head, by flipping our modern letter A, we return to that original meaning. A logo that takes the oldest of meanings into a new future.

The action of “flipping” then lays the foundation for the rest of the identity, allowing us to make visible all the ways that Aleph flips expectation, using motion, photography, copy and more.

Aleph Farms and Aleph Cuts are two distinctly different brands within the same family. Both visuals and brand voice were adjusted across the two brands to speak to distinct audiences.

Our Tallinn studio’s work – logotype and monogram for Muhulife – just got awarded a Certificate of Typographic Excellence at TDC69, issued by the Type Directors Club New York! 🎉 Congratulations to our lovely client, and thank you TDC for the recognition. 🙏

About the winning project:

Muhulife brand is inspired by life on the Estonian island of Muhu. An island where time rests, as it is often said. Standing for slow life, where family members truly have time for each other, and where kids play with toys instead of smart devices. In that spirit Muhulife creates products that carry timeless value, striving to put kids’ – and family members’ – mind and imagination at work, instead of providing fast dopamine rushes. An approach and philosophy that is beautifully embodied by the custom crafted, folk culture inspired wordmark. Wordmark, that also transforms into a symbol which one can equally see as a monogram (“ML”), and/or a rocking horse – or maybe it’s a rocking chair? It’s fittingly up to the viewer’s imagination!

Siili Auto is a modern creative technology firm fully focused on HMI innovation and creation for the next generation of mobility. We helped to create a brand identity that also works as a platform for them to deliver on their commitments in a transparent and sincere manner. An identity that encompasses the creation of digital cockpits, connected mobility services, mobile applications, and next-generation digital user interfaces.

Our goal was to capture the drive and outlook of the Siili Auto team by creating a focused, straightforward, and modern identity that is also infused with humanity and practicality.

The Italian Seltzer Company came to us with a task of rebranding their sparkling alcoholic beverage, the Mulberry Street New York Seltzer. We reimagined their top-selling product by redesigning its packaging and enhancing their online presence, including rebranding its visual identity across social media, merchandising, and website (https://mulberrystreetseltzer.com/).

To differentiate in the alcohol market, Mulberry Street needed a tone that conveyed their message effectively. The tone of voice is made out to be expressive with a no-nonsense attitude while still carrying a touch of softness, romance, and charm for good measure.

For a year we’ve been working closely with Futureplay on refreshing their Merge Gardens game, beginning with a new core idea that forms the background for a more engaging story, including a whole line of new exciting game characters. Our collaboration of course also includes a fresh new game brand.

The game word mark draws inspiration from classic fantasy and supernatural book covers to highlight its new richer game narrative. It also needed to work well on both small and large surfaces in various 3D variants.

A challenge for the reveal application was to seamlessly display all attire options as the British Airways full uniform options consist of nearly 100 individual products. Each wardrobe look was showcased with a hero video featuring a staff member wearing the uniform, complimented with images of each item within the complete look, as well as the accessory items that could be ordered.

The key thing was that the technology had to be secure, quick, and easy to use. In order to support all of BA’s staff, no matter where they are, a web-based experience was decided as the best option to create an optimal user interface and experience.

After nearly five years in the making, an entirely new set of uniforms designed by Ozwald Boateng was introduced by British Airways and we were thrilled to support the internal communications and digital aspects of the reveal of his very special project.

We created a reveal application, allowing colleagues to discover the new uniforms, wardrobes, and looks. Digital storytelling highlighted the inspiration for the uniform design, featuring the iconic airwave pattern across the new collection and the speedmarque woven directly into the fabric.

MassiveMusic is a global partner for brands & agencies in anything music related – music strategy, sonic branding, music for commercials, you name it. They make brands grow through music & sound.

They came to us with a clear task. Make our digital presence reflect who we are, what we do, and our personality: cool, fun, bold and passionate about music. We created a whole design system around their logo mark, the squiggle, which inspired for example custom-made typography Massive Maxi (Thanks Dinamo 🙏), repetitive use of images and on-going motion style. All this supports the bold & fun tone of voice MassiveMusic already has.

The same design system is implemented on their graphical identity, too. But more about that later!

Viru Keskus (Viru Centre), the number one shopping destination in Estonia, is going through a major renewal. From strategy to brand strategy, from brand renewal to a partial rebuild of the centre itself. From the introduction of a brand new food hall embodying the shift in strategy, all the way to rolling out a new wayfinding system. And beyond.

We are honoured that BOND was invited to play a strategic design role in revitalising this iconic landmark, right at the heart of Tallinn. And the best part, the vision is truly starting to come alive as we speak – as well as the city centre itself.

Papa is a new kind of family and senior care provider connecting humans who can help, with humans who need some help. Papa started as a way to provide companionship for aging family members and has expanded to support all age groups, because everybody could use a hand, from time to time.

With humans at the heart of what Papa offers and why, we knew that we had to design an identity that landed with more of a human touch, than a business-y one.

That’s why we started with a solid, but friendly logotype, and supplemented it with joyful colors and hand-drawn imagery of human faces from all walks of life.

Patarei Sea Fortress, a classical 19th century defensive structure in Tallinn, Estonia – later on turned into a prison – is about to transform into an archway to all things new and exciting. Arguably making it the most ambitious and inspiring real estate development in town in a decade or two, only awaiting the construction itself to kick off this year. So, we say it’s not a day too early to give you a sneak peek into what’s to come, and the brand new identity by our Tallinn studio. Starring a custom-created Patarei typeface, inspired by the architecture of the fortress, what else.
