Origin Yoga
Official page for Origin Yoga, Aberdeen.
Events coming up in the next 2 weeks.
As the weather cools down and we deep-dive into Autumn, we should slow down in our practice as we follow the earth's natural rhythms. Our energies drop, and our immune system is working hard against all the seasonal bugs and colds. It is time to slow down, rest, and gather our thoughts as we head into contemplation and meditation.
Our monthly restorative yoga is on Friday evening, followed by the workshop where we focus on the lungs and large intestine meridians to help support ourselves as we move towards winter. The workshop has a variety of Hatha, Yin and Restorative to charge up the chi energies or if you can't make these classes I have the last restorative class of the year at Altens Community Centre at the beginning of November.
If you are interested in any of these events, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
This picture says so many things we can relate to. The overwhelm can get intense, and the stress of everyday life can feel unreal. I have been creating monthly resets to provide a space to release yourself from all your responsibilities and stresses for a short time. A time-out, quiet time, hiding...whatever you want to call it, it's providing you with time to breathe and gather yourself.
This class is on Friday 1st November, 7-9 pm, in the small room at Altens Community Centre. All equipment will be provided. Wear comfortable warm clothing that you can layer, it is natural for your body temperature to drop when lying still for long periods.
Parking is available at the centre.
The class costs £20, payment will secure your space, and numbers are limited. Please note, there is a cancellation policy of 24hrs. If you can no longer make the class, please provide 24hrs for a full refund. If it is less than 24hrs, the class is no longer refundable.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
This week, we finished with the sahasrara chakra, and what a beautiful week it has been. Your chanting has blown me away and felt powerful to feel. I am blessed to have such beautiful students, and sharing our energies has been profound.
Love to all ❤️
By far, this routine has been my favourite.
Let's keep using our voices. The more we practice using them, the more confident and free we become.
Be heard.
Be loud.
Be free

The last workshop of the year is on Sunday, 27th October, 11 am-2 pm, at 9 Albyn Terrace, Aberdeen.
This workshop will be practising yoga, based on the seasonal meridians of the lungs and large intestines. Practising breathing, physical movement, and stillness will help move the energies through the meridians and provide improved symptoms of physical, mental, and emotional imbalances.
The lungs control breathing and energy, and the large intestines remove waste and absorb water back into the body. This workshop will help improve your pranayama, learn and practice control of our bandhas and the asana will help remove pent-up emotions, and physical waste in the body and improve the whole being.
With this workshop, we will move through three different styles of yoga: Hatha, Yin and Restorative moving from active to inactive. It is a lovely way of experiencing how the various styles work on your body, head and heart.

Got a few spaces left for this Friday's restorative yoga class. At the studio 6.30-8.30pm get in touch to book in
This class is monthly. If you can't make this one, you can always book onto the next class. Open to all abilities as it is a low-key floor practice that is designed to relax and release using time and support.
Are you looking for a class in which you can fully immerse yourself in deep relaxation?
Restorative yoga is great if you are stressed, the kids are driving you nuts, or if you need a timeout?
2 hours of relaxing poses, wrapped up in blankets and letting go of all your tension is a beautiful experience. It can help manage your physical, mental and emotional health.
When you work on relaxation, the nervous system begins to relax and in doing so, your cortisol levels drop, blood pressure lowers, and heart rate slows. The brain takes you out of emergency mode and your body kicks starts which means your stomach will function fully and your body starts the healing process. As your body deepens into relaxation, the muscles begin to melt away the tightness, and your body softens, reducing aches and pains. You may even fall asleep.
The poses to help promote relaxation are all floor-based, with minimal stretching. It is suitable for all levels.
Equipment will be provided, wear comfy clothes and layer, especially if you feel the cold. I always recommend wearing your favourite comfortable clothes, to help you relax even further.
Parking is available at the back of the building or on-street parking.
The cost of the class is £18. All spaces are prepaid before attending and if you can no longer make the class we have a 24-hour cancellation policy for a refund. If 24 hours have not been provided the class is nonrefundable.
I have a space Monday 6.10pm class at Altens Community Centre DM to book in.
The late summer meridians are the spleen and stomach. This routine will nourish your energy, body, heart and soul. We will move our bodies, and find stillness to activate the meridians.
The routine can help boost your digestion, and efficiency of the stomach and spleen, helping promote a happier, healthier you. These mental qualities can help reduce anxiety and worry and improve self-esteem and concentration.
The workshop is 3hrs, moving from Hatha to Yin and finishing with Restorative Yoga. The workshop is suitable for all levels, however some practice would be beneficial.
