We’re looking to add another member to our kitchen team here at The Tanky.
The job is for a kitchen porter but someone with a little more kitchen experience would be ideal, to not only help with dishes and prep but also get busy in our starter and puds department.
It’s all evening and weekend work, and we’re pretty rural so must have own transport or be able to teleport.

The best beer gardens to soak up the summer sun in north Northumberland

I’ve given this a thorough testing over several research sessions and decided to make it a full time member of the family, perfect for the beer garden weather!

Making the most of some lovely company over the weekend to have a blast at being a tourist for the day.
is high on our list of recommendations at The Tanky, but none of us had been to enjoy it for ourselves.
So, whisky distillery tour at 11am on a bank holiday Sunday seemed like a great plan, finished off with a little tasting session of their wears. And although neither Ali or myself are whisky drinkers, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
There’s a cracking little bistro to get a bite to eat, before heading back in to immerse yourself in local history in the Anglo-Saxon museum. A warm welcome awaits you from the minute you step through the door!

Our new Greek chicken gyros and ploughman’s have proven popular today!

If we can’t have the sunshine at least we can have a little taste of it.
May we introduce our Chicken Gyros board, on our lunch time specials this Friday and Saturday. With Mediterranean flatbread, homemade tzatziki (made just like they do on the cobbled streets of Ios), and chargrilled chicken seasoned with a traditional concoction of Greek herbs. Not forgetting some paprika tossed fries on the side.
