🌸🌿 Last week with all the children at St Brigid’s we did a flower walk … and as you can see their creations were amazing 🌿🌸…we also spotted a beautiful 🐸 and 🐞

How to do a flower walk….
Gather the kids and explore nature’s colorful beauty right in your backyard or local park. A flower walk isn’t just a fun activity; it’s an opportunity for little ones to connect with nature, learn about different plants, and engage their senses. 🌷✨

Here are some wonderful benefits of a flower walk:
1. ✨Educational Fun✨: Discover the names and types of flowers. Encourage curiosity and learning about botany in a hands-on way.
2. ✨Creative Expression✨: Kids can create their own live flower vases with the flowers they pick, sparking their creativity and sense of accomplishment.
3. ✨Mindfulness & Relaxation✨: Walking among flowers can be calming and refreshing for both kids and adults.
4. ✨Bonding Time✨: It’s a perfect way to spend quality time together, sharing discoveries and making memories.

So grab a basket, put on your adventure hats, and immerse yourselves in the vibrant world of flowers. Share your beautiful live flower vases with us! 🌼💐

🗣️ Teaching children about positive self-talk is crucial for their mental well-being. When kids understand how to speak kindly to themselves, they learn to counter negative thoughts and build a strong foundation of self-esteem. This skill helps them navigate challenges, boost their confidence, and foster a healthy mindset. Let’s empower our children with the tools they need to thrive! 🌟💖

🌟 Yesterday I got a couple of my yr 6’s Engaging in Yoga Class Planning: They then held the class in front of their peers and for the yr 3’s ….It was Magical Experience to watch🌟

Have you ever thought about involving children in planning your next yoga class? 🧘‍♀️ Let’s dive into the amazing benefits:

⭐️ Boosts Creativity: Kids bring fresh, imaginative ideas to the table. Involving them sparks creativity and leads to fun, innovative class themes and activities.
⭐️ Empowers Independence: When kids participate in planning, they feel a sense of ownership and empowerment. It’s a beautiful opportunity for them to take charge and contribute their unique perspectives.
⭐️Enhances Engagement: Children thrive when they feel heard and valued. By involving them in the planning process, you’re fostering a deeper sense of engagement and enthusiasm for the practice.
⭐️ Fosters Collaboration: Planning together encourages teamwork and collaboration. Kids learn to communicate, compromise, and work together toward a common goal—creating a harmonious and supportive environment.
⭐️ Tailored Experience: Who knows what kids enjoy more than kids themselves? By involving them in the planning process, you’re ensuring that the class resonates with their interests and preferences, making it a truly enriching experience for all.

It was a HUGE success … now they all want to try it 🤩

A beautiful afternoon yesterday holding space for a lovely reflexology group at their annual meeting.
✨🎶 Surrounded by the gentle hum of singing bowls and the soothing vibrations of gongs, the ethereal melodies of chimes we journeyed through waves of relaxation and inner peace. Each vibration a gentle caress, guiding us deeper into relaxation and inner harmony. Super grateful for the opportunity to share this beautiful experience with each soul present.

This was just shared in a group I’m in … how amazing is this … yoga instead of detention 👌how great to teach children how to regulate their own nervous system and behaviours 💚

Last night I had the privilege of holding a friends and family sound bath for Kay and Fran .mcr
It’s the most beautiful eco-friendly beauty treament, lifestyle and retail store. We had such a great night …….

We started with some somatic dancing to lift our vibration and to release any stagnant energy 💃🏻 …this got the mood flowing, some giggled which was great .. releasing our inner child and letting go of all judgement
We drank cacao which helps with sleep, anxiety, a cosy feeling of well-being.
We set intentions, It’s a way of focusing your mind and directing your energy towards a specific outcome. By setting an intention, you can enhance the healing power of the sound bath and deepen your experience.

The evening was full of warmth, curiosity and fulfillment. My heart was definitely full after holding the space for such lovely people ❤️

I have used IPSEA so many times, they are vital in getting the correct information surrounding all things SEN. I never understand why the schools would want to deny a child getting the right support for their pupils … get IPSEA in your corner and it’s an easier pathway to getting the correct support for your child within your school setting x

A recent BBC News article based on new data from the Nuffield Trust revealed delays in assessments for autism and ADHD diagnosis leading to a lack of support for pupils in school.

However, our latest blog clarifies: support for SEN is NOT tied to diagnosis.

I did it 🥳🥳🥳
I have just completed my 60 hours in person Teen yoga for mental health teacher training … which is even classified as Level 3 sports coach 🤩
It’s a foundational yoga therapy training, which specifically tackles common issues faced by young people across the world including anxiety, eating disorders, depression, sleep issues, relationship difficulties, physical pain, functional neurological disorder and many others.

It’s a been and amazing 5 days, that I will cherish, not only for the amazing knowledge that has been shared but for the beautiful people I have met. The room was filled with so much love, compassion and excitement between us and for what we will be bring to all teen and young people.

This week also confirmed why I do what I do for our young people … we want them to thrive and they are ALL ENOUGH just how they are ❤️
My cup has definitely been filled up with this experience and connections with beautiful people 🙏

🌟 Let’s take kids’ yoga to the next level with Yoga Jenga! 🧘‍♂️🎲 This innovative twist on the classic game combines the physical benefits of yoga with the fun and challenge of Jenga. Here’s why it’s a game-changer:

⭐️Problem-Solving: Each move in Jenga presents a problem to solve: How can I remove this block without toppling the tower? It’s a fantastic way for kids to hone their critical thinking and problem-solving skills
⭐️Social Interaction: Whether playing with family or friends, Jenga encourages social interaction, cooperation, and sportsmanship. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to practice communication and teamwork in a fun and relaxed setting
⭐️Confidence Building: Successfully pulling out a tricky block or keeping the tower steady can give kids a sense of accomplishment and boost their confidence, encouraging them to tackle new challenges with enthusiasm
⭐️Emotional Regulation: Yoga has been shown to promote emotional well-being by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. By combining yoga with the interactive element of Jenga, kids can learn valuable tools for managing their emotions and promoting inner peace
⭐️Strength Building: Many yoga poses target specific muscle groups, helping kids build strength and endurance as they hold poses and move the blocks. It’s a fantastic way to promote overall physical fitness.
⭐️Resilience: Toppling the tower can be disappointing, but it’s also a chance for resilience. Kids learn that setbacks happen, and it’s okay to try again and learn from mistakes

“🎶 Elevate their mindfulness practice with Zaphir chimes and Dan Moi! 🌿✨ These instruments aren’t just beautiful to listen to; they offer a myriad of benefits for your well-being.

🌀 Zaphir chimes create soothing, resonant tones that effortlessly guide you into a state of relaxation and meditation. Their gentle sounds help calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote inner peace.

🎵 Dan Moi, the traditional Vietnamese jaw harp, is more than just a musical instrument; it’s a tool for deepening your breathwork and connecting with your inner rhythm. Its vibrant tones can aid in improving focus, enhancing mindfulness, and even relieving tension.

💫 Whether you’re starting your day with a moment of tranquility or winding down in the evening, incorporating Zaphir chimes and Dan Moi into your routine can amplify your mindfulness journey. Let their melodies transport you to a place of serenity and harmony.

Nutritious Minds Trust Charity 🍓is excited to welcome guest, Dr Daniel Amen to the next episode of our Adult ADHD Conversations series.

For those that don’t know, Dr Daniel Amen is a physician, child and adult psychiatrist, and founder of Amen Clinics. We met many years ago at a conference in Los Angeles and I later spent some time working with him as Director of Research & Development (circa 2018) at his Costa Mesa office in California.

The Amen Clinics is situated in 11 locations across the United States and has the world’s largest database of brain scans for psychiatry totalling more than 250,000 SPECT scans on patients from 155 countries. Daniel is famous for reminding us that the field of psychiatry seldom if ever looks at the organ it is evaluating and diagnosing! Imagine that! Thankfully now, we are waking up to the fact that the brain is an organ with biochemical underpinnings which is utterly reliant on a range of brain-selective nutrients to fuel its activity and to regulate its health. Furthermore, the world is finally waking up to the impacts of ultra processed foods, sugar, alcohol and other toxic substances to brain (/mental) health and brain activity.

Daniel is also the founder of BrainMD, a fast-growing, science-based nutraceutical company, and Amen University, which has trained thousands of medical and mental health professionals on the methods he has developed. In 2020 Dr. Amen launched his digital series Scan My Brain featuring high-profile actors, musical artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, and influencers that airs on YouTube and Instagram with millions of views.

He has also produced 18 national public television shows about the brain and his online videos on brain and mental health have been viewed over 300 million times. Dr. Amen is a 12-time New York Times bestselling author, including Change Your Brain, Change Your Life, The End of Mental Illness, Healing ADD, and many more.

We will be discussing all things ADHD, and his newest book “Raising Mentally Strong Kids” which is released in March 2024. Please have your questions ready and be sure to save the date!

This was an amazing day that I was part of for children’s mental health week. The children were amazing 🤩 we did a mixture of yoga, meditation, sound therapy and positive affirmations ❤️

02/03/2024

A helpful reminder for any parent. If your child can't tell you in words, they will often use their behaviour to let you know how they’re feeling. This might come out as anger.

Underneath these behaviours, a young person who seems very angry may also be feeling things like fear, stress, sadness, hurt or worry – or might be struggling to cope with a difficult experience at school, at home or in another part of their life that they feel unable to talk about.

It can be helpful to remember that a person who’s feeling angry a lot of the time probably isn’t feeling very happy – and while it might not be obvious, what they often need is support. Supporting children and young people to put their feelings into words can help them to feel less overwhelming, making it less likely that they will need to act out.

Autism can look like...

31/01/2024

When I talk about ADHD and diet, this is the lady who helped us as a family. In lockdown after finding Nutricious minds I was hooked. No doctor will tell you the connection in ADHD/AUTISM and the food we eat that will help. ( I feel it’s more about MEDICATION) Whilst I understand not all doctors are trained on neurodiversity, you’d think this is basic stuff. Take a look at her page as it’s really insightful. 💚

Today I have been working with the children to express their emotions, their feelings and fostering self -regulation. 💚
“Empowering young minds is vital for a healthy emotional development.
Creating a supportive environment where kids feel heard and understood is crucial and TOGETHER, let’s nurture emotionally intelligent and confident young minds. Let’s build a community that supports and understands them, nurturing resilience and confidence, whilst giving them a supportive environment where kids feel heard and understood. 🌈”
