Yesterday we stood to attention for an ex Leading Firefighter Terry Evans, who sadly passed away on 28.05.2024.

Terry spent 27 years working for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, He started off as a firefighter and made his way through the ranks to become a Leading Firefighter.

He had an amazing career and he will be forever remembered for his service and bravery.

We send our thoughts to his wife Janet and his friends and family at this time.

Stand down Leading Firefighter Evans, you have done us proud.

We had the great pleasure of going to Enham last week , we went along for Sharon’s 60th birthday . It was a lovely visit and we had a good chat with everyone , I’d like to say we made Sharon’s day , but in actual fact all the residents made OUR DAY 🚒🚒

A MASSIVE Thankyou to everyone that came to our charity car wash today!!

We are still totalling up but it looks like we raised over £1000 for The Fire Fighters Charity!

Such an amazing effort! Thankyou everyone!

Andover Fire Station led the Andover Carnival procession from Weyhill Road to Vigo Park this afternoon. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service Emergency One Group Ltd / Volvo Trucks FE water carrier GL19FXS was joined by a Volvo FL appliance and Land Rover Defender.

As the hot weather continues we start to see an increase accross the UK in water rescues.

Around 400 people needlessly drown in the uk every year, this number could be dropped dramatically with ensuring if you are entering open water you know what safety precautions to take…

Around open water you may spot Lifebuoy Rings. These are to use when someone is in danger in open water.

Use these handy three steps,

Raise the alarm or get someone else to raise the alarm and call emergency services.

𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗧 - call to the person see if they are responding and get their attention.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 - can you reach that person without stepping into the water yourself?

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗪 - grab a nearby life ring if available and throw out to that person - aim to land the ring beyond the person.

𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 enter the water yourself.

𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗: On the subject of life rings, we have seen some being abused and thrown into the water unnecessarily around the local area so they are then not available to use in an emergency.

Some more pictures of our happy place at work , our well-being garden , we were donated a table and chairs by a lovely local resident , who no longer had use for it . Also one of our resident Robins , we have 2 who spend most days with us . Sunflowers are also growing at a rapid rate . Thank you to all who have helped by donating plants to us , especially Dobbie’s garden centre who have been extremely kind to us 🚒🚒

Great for tyre flips and loads of other exercises. Over 100kg in weight.

We have had sad news that one of our Firefighters from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, WM Arron Jepp has lost his battle.

Our thoughts go out to all his family, friends and colleagues.

Such an inspiration.

It is with great sadness that we must confirm the death of one of our firefighters, Watch Manager Arron Jepp.

Tributes have been paid to the inspirational and much-loved Rushmoor firefighter, who sadly passed away yesterday following a period of illness.

Calling all ex Andover firefighters and their families.

2022 is the 60th anniversary of Andover Fire Station on its London Road site.

We are inviting all who have a connection to the station to help us celebrate the occasion by joining us for tea and cake, an opportunity to catch up with old friends and reminisce over the ‘good old days’!

You just have to take your bestie.

Wally had a trip to the station today, Philip was there to talk to R today.

They chatted through about school and home work, how many different roles their are within the fire service and what’s it’s like to be part of a team.

More information around anxiety and reassurance even grown men have big feelings.

Philip is arranging for R to start to visit different parts of the service, stations, departments and even HQ.

For a little boy who’s been to scared to leave the house, see people and go to the farm this has been perfect.

It’s touched every part of his life from seeing friends, smiling, being relaxed at home and even his sleeping position is more relaxed 😎

Heros’s don’t wear capes, they wear uniforms.

Today we commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of all those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
