A lovely hour spent test printing this new print 💚
I am embarking on a little circle series and have wanted to print a women’s circle for a while.
Last year when trying to find a particular wild swimming spot near Glastonbury to take my husband to, I stumbled upon a we**am view of a sacred glade.
Thing is, at the time I didn’t realise that it was a we**am and thought it was a rather grainy and poor quality photo of a place, which was most certainly not the one I was looking for.
So I stopped searching and hopped in the shower and when I came back I freaked out because I saw people moving on my Mac screen and thought I was somehow on FaceTime! I then realised it was a we**am feed and was riveted by 6 women standing in a circle, heads bowed, holding hands.
I couldn’t believe my luck and took some snaps and thanked the universe for the gift, then said out loud, “it would have been great if there were 7 women though!” As 7 is the number of women I’m doing in each circle, and feels like a lucky and auspicious number.
Next thing I know, white cowboy hat lady comes into the frame and gives each woman a long and heartfelt hug, then holds hands and the circle continued! I gasped…took some photos..And so, this print was born!
Serendipitous perfection! (Thank you, Universe!) 🥰💫🤍

I just love this saying and said it so many times in the past year that I decided to make a print of it. Nearly everyone who buys this print messages me about why they’re buying it - either they’ve always loved keeping their head down, they’re avoiding dramatic humans in their life or they’re just focusing on their own goals and minding their own business - I love it! 🤍🙌
They’ve been zipping off to new homes a lot lately and I’ve just printed another batch of 10, so they’ll be dry and post ready in the next couple of days 🖤
This saying has felt so “me” lately, it’s framed on my desk with this funky black and white tile frame from 🙌

True to her nature, she is no fair-weather friend, offering a refuge of support and understanding when you need it most. I’m at Christmas market today and sharing a stall with the lovely .clare ! I am here until 7.30 this evening, when Clare will be joining me and Clare is here tomorrow 10-4pm!
There are lots of lovely makers and artisans present so do pop by for the stroll around the gardens and a browse down around the market! ✨🎄
These dancers are bringing me so much joy! Yesterday it’s almost like one of them could tell I was about to throw her in the bin because she was SO CHALLENGING to print 🤦♀️ I decided to have one last go with a different brayer after tinkering with carving more lines and she printed ✨beautifully✨ after about 4 APs, 4 bins and lots of swearing.
The next dancer must have seen what happened with her sister and played ball - 7 beautiful prints on 7 suns and not a single AP! Splendid. Their personalities are going to make them much easier to name now!
Today I’m printing more suns and have just 2 dancers left to print, before moving onto THE BIG WOODBLOCK print next week 🥳
This Lino block was sitting in my drawer for about 8 months, waiting to be printed and now here she is! 🐒🎪
It’s a definite departure from my usual style, but I say this phrase so often that I wanted to honour the sentiment and the image just wouldn’t leave my mind, so I had to get it out on paper.
I’m in the process of finding a name for it e.g. ‘Stay in your lane’ or ‘Don’t be a clown’ - any ideas?
We had a fantastic time yesterday at the beautiful for the preview of Horizon, showing fresh prints by and Rod Nelson, as well as celebrating the launch of their new book, Twenty Concepts in Woodblock Printing (available in all the usual places!).

Thank you to all my friends, family and followers who tuned in and to watch our woodworking episode of Bill Bailey’s Master Crafters: The Next Generation!
All of the messages and calls were so appreciated - it was quite surreal and I have so much respect for the whole crew who shot and directed the show for putting it together in such a concise and entertaining way.
It was such an honour to be taught by the incredible and - their skill and expertise are second to none and so inspiring.
It was all a totally new experience for me - working with tools that I had never used before to create a 3D piece - totally different to my usual practice of carving into the surface area of wood for woodblock print making!
We’re all very much looking forward to next weeks’ silversmithing episode, where my fellow makers and will be showing their skills.
Then, the week after us the challenge week, when we all submit our final pieces on a commission from His Majesty King Charles for his private gardens at 🌳🌿🌸
So exciting! Looking forward to watching this with the kids!

My fellow creatives:
I finally editioned these lovely mini woodblock prints this week! The colours were a happy accident and I think further reinforces my theory that all the magic happens when you’re at play.
I’ve been test printing a huge block of wood for a larger woodblock print and tried this colour combination, which didn’t work for the design I’m using for the larger block. I really liked these colours though and didn’t want to waste precious ink so I had a root around for some small blocks and found this sunset tree silhouette that I carved back in December and never printed.
Really happy with how they turned out and looking forward to stamping and numbering them.
These are limited edition and available on my website for preorder - click the link in my bio and “Tiny Treasures” to see the collection.
