Another massive step as we come back out of the ground with the block and beam floor...... time-lapse video to come of the dig out and concrete pour
The first blocks have been laid, another exciting step forward in delivering a fantastic building for the young people that are apart of the group now and for the future πππ

Well the builders have been hard at work today and have managed to lay all of the concrete needed for the foundations in one day!
Long may it continue!

I am pleased to announce we have just secured another Β£10,000 in a successful grant application with the Heart of Bucks!

Week 1s timelapse of the old scout hut being demolished after decades of use, take a look at the work that was done over the first week!
And there it was.....gone. groundworks start next week 14th Vale of Aylesbury Sea Scouts
Turns out the 'slab' was only 6 inches thick on a bed of flint...... that may be part of the reason it was soooo cold π΅βπ«π₯Ά
Who's after a time-lapse then?
Well the works have truly started now! ππ€©
The last pieces of the equipment over the last 53 years stored away, thanks to Cleveland Containers who have provided us with the containers needed whilst the headquarters is being built.
They have also provided the District Scout Shop with a portacabin to use whilst the works are ongoing to allow the shop to continue to serve everyone across Buckinghamshire Scouts and beyond!
Our wonderful Group Scout Leader (or now also know as Group Lead Volunteer) Kevin John breaking ground on the building ready for tomorrow mornings work to begin!
An Era Comes To A Close βοΈπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
Since our group's early days our hut, our home, has seen generations of young people & volunteers come through and get the chance to experience what scouting is all about.
Next week kicks off for our group's next chapter, ready to welcome new generations of young people & volunteers to get to have the experience of what scouting is all about, giving opportunities to learn skills that last a lifetime.
So for now, thanks old girl for what youβve given to us all, itβs been a blast!

It is with great pleasure that I am pleased to announce that the whole group has been awarded the Commendation Award by our County Commissioner James Williamson for the Fantastic effort in raising Β£8,500 for the Β£5 challenge.
An amazing achievement and testament to the hard work, enthusiasm & efforts you all went to in raising as much money as you could all going to the big rebuild!
Well done everyone!

Donβt forget, tonight is the last chance to see the Scout Hut before the power is turned off, knocked down and rebuilt.
If you were a Beaver, Cub, Scout or Venture Scout in times gone by why not pop down and see the building that helped to shape you as a person!
The hut is open between 19:00 - 21:00 tonight on the Wendover Rd behind the pace centre.
