Wow, just wow! I’m not really sure how to put into words what an amazing week 1st Waddesdon Guides and Waddesdon Rangers - Grendon Underwood District have had at the Essex International Jamboree! There are so many people to thank, from the camp chiefs Karen & Paul, to the thousands of staff, not least the FABULOUS Mississippi sub-camp leads, who did not just make sure the event ran smoothly, but made it an outstanding experience for all who attended.

I would mostly like to give a HUGE thank you to Jan, Grace and Laura, who helped make this camp an exceptional experience for our girls! I am so proud to have these outstanding leaders by my side and feel that we have all found a connection that you can only gain through the trials and tribulations of spending the whole week at camp together, in extremes of temperatures and emotions, and still manage to hold it all together so wonderfully. We had so many compliments from other experienced leaders about our girls and the camp itself that I am coming home with my heart filled with absolute pride.

I feel so lucky that we’ve had the complete privilege of seeing the girls grow, learn and flourish with each day that has passed. They have tried so many activities and foods that they have never tried before, they have overcome fears and developed new friendships, both within and external to our unit, that they will keep for life, and many, if not all, can’t wait until the next one! They really did prove that girls can do anything 💪

Essex International Jamboree here we come 🤩

We’ve had the most amazing Summer camp 24- Wizard/Harry Potter Themed 😍 ⛺️🏊‍♀️🏄‍♀️🏆

20 girls had a wonderful time proving that girls can do anything! We are so proud of them for all trying everything and having a great time making friends while doing so!

After a hugely successful camp with our brand new tents, all of our Guides and leaders would like to say a massive thank you to Buckinghamshire Council for the grant to make this possible! We could not have done it without you and look forward to many more camps with them 🥰

Got them going with their BackWoods cooking tonight they seemed to enjoy it 🔥😍

Tonight was all about camping ⛺️ 😍 camp safety & tent doctor 🔨

Girls decided on skipping and tug-o-war tonight 😍 They also did a UMA called Ready, Teddy, Go! Learning all about motivation 🥇

Well what a night!!! Over 100 people!!! Thank you to everyone who came along and made it a fantastic night in the ‘awkward village of Waddleston’ 😂 We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did? A good amount raised for the Guides outdated, 1970’s style Jamboree!!!! ⛺️ 🤣
