In any time remaining partners will complete As Many Reps As Possible of Synchronised Bar Hop Burpees

What encouraged you to start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit because I wanted to be challenged out of my comfort zone in multiple disciplines and across different demands of training.
What’s your fave thing about being a CFAY member?
My favourite thing about being at CFAY is the people and the coaching, I’ve made so many friends at CF because of the welcoming people that are at the box. The coaches are so knowledgeable and have helped me improve so much over the last year and half.
What’s your fave CF movement and which one makes you ‘the struggle is real’ 🫠
My favourite CF movement has to be anything on the worm, working in a team where you’re all in the bin together has such rewarding feeling afterwards. The struggle gets real with any gymnastics thats on the bar.
A hook grip is the grip we use when lifting the bar from the floor in the Sn**ch or Clean.
There are two main reasons we use this:
✋🏼to ensure the bar stays in our hands throughout the lift
🏋🏽 to allow us to keep relaxed arms, whilst still maintaining a tight grip. Relaxing the arms allows us to maximise the force production of the legs within the lift.
Hook Grip tips:
1 - stick with it, it takes some getting used to but persevere and it’ll feel better in the long run
2 - struggling with small hands?
Here’s a 3 step guide to get the best Hook Grip possible:
1 - press the fleshy part of your hand (between thumb and forefinger) into the bar
2 - wrap your thumb as far around the bar as possible
3 - place the fingers over the thumb
If you’re struggling with hook grip don’t hesitate to let your coach know during your class.

What encouraged you to join CrossFit?
I have always had some friends who enjoyed and competed in CrossFit, including my husband, who regularly recommended it to me. I was always keen on running in the past but wanted to attempt to challenge myself further. Being far more consistent recently has definitely done wonders for my well-being so I would also recommend it to anyone!
What’s your fave thing about being a CFAY member?
It has to be the incredible CFAY community and the supportive coaching. Despite not lifting the heaviest weights, I have never felt discouraged and I have always been so appreciative of that! I also really enjoy celebrating other members achieve their ‘wins’ - the other members are always inspiring me! ☺️
What’s your fave CrossFit movement and which one makes you go ‘the struggle is real?’
Probably not a popular opinion but my fave has to be burpees and I have a list as long as my arm for ‘the struggle is real’ but I am going to have to go for wall balls, wall walks and sn**ches (oh and overhead squats too)🫠. But finishing a workout, whatever the movements, is always the best feeling!
If you’re new to CrossFit or thinking about joining, you might wonder why we have a whiteboard? 🤔
We’ll show the workout of the day and track everyone’s scores but it’s more about community, accountability and pushing yourself in each workout - plus very handy when you forget what you’re doing midway through a WOD
Also, don’t worry about the whiteboard - it’s no pressure, just progress 💪🏼
Saturdays are for… Partner WOD 👭
Our partner WODs are at 10am and 11am and are great for pushing yourself that but further and have fun training with someone else!
The WODs are always scalable and can be adapted to different abilities so you can partner up with anyone 💙
Our conditioning classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 10am and are designed to boost your endurance, increase aerobic capacity with more cardio style WODs which are great for pushing your overall fitness levels 📈
