UPDATE FROM THAMES WATER REGARDING THE SEWAGE WORKS
'We continue to complete the “sludge projects” keeping odours to a minimum and are going through the commissioning stage of the final digesters into process which will ultimately reduce odours in the future.
We understand that odours can be difficult to mitigate as this is dependent on wind direction, and we are removing the sludge cake from site as quick as possible, to help.
We aim to complete the Digested Sludge projects autumn 2024, and this will ultimately reduce odours in the future.
Quality sludge cake produces energy to power the site and is used as a fertiliser for farmers land.
There has been a delay in the project due to one of the wettest winters/springs we have just been through, and we now have all of the structural works completed. We need to commission the digesters and other assets, before turning over the whole of the sludge process to the new assets.
Once all completed and commissioned this will dramatically reduce the odours that come from the site. Still the issues will always be wind direction or those still days when odours do not disperse quickly.
We continue to treat all the waste from the Aylesbury area and surrounding villages to the quality required for our permits.'
Today we had local residents Del and Trish from Sirensend Medical Services attend the Haydon Hill Community Centre to deliver an Emergency First Aid at work course to 8 members of the Haydon Hill Committee. So you can rest assured that all future community events will have at least one first aid trained committee member present.
If you are looking for first aid training or a refresher, then we would highly recommend Sirensend Medical Services. The course was delivered to the highest standard and was very engaging and informative throughout. All 8 members passed their assessments with flying colours. Thank you Del and Trish 😊
⭐️ Can you help? ⭐️
Haydon Hill Community Association (HHCA) requires a Secretary to take notes and action points at meetings.
This a voluntary role and only requires a few hours per year. The HHCA is run by resident volunteers who form the Committee and we meet several times a year, including a yearly AGM.
The purpose of HHCA is to promote and improve conditions for Haydon Hill residents by working together with local authorities and other organisations. We organise several events throughout the year aimed at a diverse range of age groups living within the local community.
You will need to be a Haydon Hill resident. Can you help? Message the inbox for further information or email: [email protected]

YPEC CIC / InsightNow work in partnership to undertake research and engagement with local communities on a wide range of public health and local concerns.
They are currently doing some research on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council around employment barriers for local communities living in the 3 wards - Aylesbury North-West, Booker, Cressex and Castlefield, Totteridge and Bowerdean.
They are aiming to find out people's views, opinions and experiences of the barriers and concerns in accessing employment within their local area.

WORKS INFORMATION AND NOTIFICATION LETTER: Picasso Place, Aylesbury
We are writing to inform you that Buckinghamshire Highways will be carrying out works to install a raised table, minor drainage works and cycleway crossing scheme at Picasso Place with upgraded further cycleway works along Picasso Place (Cul-de- Sac), Gogh Road, Meredith Road & Scott End Road.
The works are programmed to take place from Monday 13th May 2024, and it is anticipated the works will take approximately 4 weeks to complete. The work will be carried out using priority working in operation Monday to Friday between 08.00am - 16.30pm, however it will be necessary to close the road for approximately 2 days to install the raised table. The road closure at Picasso Place for the raised table may extend beyond the works extents. Please refer to the diversion route overleaf.
Information signs and parking suspension signs will be erected on site prior to the commencement of the works, giving actual dates and durations. You will appreciate that works of this nature are extremely weather dependant and therefore may be subject to disruption due to adverse weather. lft the works are delayed, the advance inforration : signs on site will be updated to reflect any changes.
Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents, although there may be times when it is not safe to do so, and we apologise for any inconvenience. It is vital that vehicles are not parked on the road and/or footway as this will prevent the works from being completed.
If you would like to contact Buckinghamshire Council, report a problem on a street/ road in Buckinghamshire or check for current or ongoing roadworks or road closures, you can do: SO by scanning the following QR codes
