Used Gym Equipment Bought and Sold. Est. 2014 www.millersfitness.net π¬π§
We're excited to finally own the novelty that took the gym equipment industry by storm last year... an Eleiko Heavy Mug. 1 of only 300 produced in the world, with production of them now ceased.
A bit of a back story on it - The coffee mug weighs 8.5kg and is made of Swedish stainless steel. It was originally an April Fools' joke by Eleiko which they turned into a reality.
The first one they ever made was stolen from an Eleiko exhibition booth at FIBO. The second one they made was raffled off, and on arriving at the winners home, the box was empty (stolen again). So out of fear of this getting pinched too, the highly sought-after mug is not going to be stored at any Miller residences or warehouses!
While it's a great bit of fun, the mug is notable to me as a gym equipment trader, as it's always a pleasure to see this Rolls-Royce-esque brand pass through our stock now and again. So to own a piece of history related to the Eleiko brand is quite special.

A sad day for independent gyms in Norfolk today as Apollon Gym which has been running since the 1950's has closed its doors.
I took a call from Andy Palmer last week (Andy has owned Apollon for the past 15 years) and due to no fault of their own (a degrading building) they were forced to move out of their current premises within a week. But decided to sell the equipment to us instead of relocating again.
Originally set up in Duke Street, Apollon later moved to Norwich Rugby Club, then in the last year to Anglia Square. If you have a flick through the photos on this post you'll see some of the original equipment.
The equipment has been updated since then, and the 12 van loads we took out of the gym within the past week includes the likes of Cybex, Life Fitness and some plate loaded machines along with tonnes of weight. All will be listed for sale probably some time in February as there's a lot of cables and upholstery to get sorted first on the machines. We're also extremely busy buying and prepping other stock from other jobs, so will get to listing it all as soon as we can!
Thanks again to Andy for considering us to take on the job. It was an honour. All the best for the future.
If anybody has any fond memories of Apollon Gym over the years please share below.
Notable past Apollon Club committee members I have heard of are Michael Annison, Terry Neve, Steve Haggar, Keith Elliott, David Nichols, Steve Nichols, Vic Birtles and John Wilson.

Hi all I'd just like to explain where Buddy and I have been...
My old van reached the end of the road and the new van I had on order was due 'very soon' at the time so I decided to wait. The delivery date got pushed back with supply chain problems time and time again but eventually the new van made it here.
Despite rumours I went bankrupt, out of business, ill or was on a gap year (thankful for all those kind rumours) I can confirm it was just the van I was having problems with π
My gym equipment listings are now back and live on the website. There are around 60 listings at the moment but plenty more to go on as my pick ups can now resume.
A reminder on how to find the listings:
Go to www.millersfitness.net
Click the 'Current Stock' button on the home page
You'll be transferred to my gumtree listings which are updated daily
Thank you very much to all customers who have been patient over the past month or so with our situation. We are now back to 100% output with all buying and selling so drop us a message if you need any buying or need any selling. See you soon π
All the best,
Matt and Buddy πΆ
Today marks 7 years since Miller's Fitness started trading. I've loved every second of it. It's moved from a shed, to a garage, to a shipping container to now 2 units worth of kit.
Thank you to everybody who has bought and sold with me over the years. From day one my main mission was to sell kit on for reasonable money and when a customer mentions they check my listings daily it reassures me that I'm doing just that.
This job started out as a hobby and has turned into a full time venture for which I'm very thankful for.
Here's to the next 7 years. See you all soon and thanks again π

Buddy had his first gym removal last week as we bought the contents of Fully Trained Fitness (). 5 full van loads and 2 days of work. I took Buddy's sofa down there too and all he did was watch me dismantle and load the kit on the van (some employee).
It was sad to hear the news that the gym was closing down as I had dealt with Kate many times in the past. It was always a pleasure to deal with you and I hope Buddy and I made this process as smooth as possible for you. Wishing you the best for the future.
I apologise to all customers who keep an eye on my listings as they have been slow recently. All because I've had little to no time to advertise pieces as I've been collecting all over the place. Stock to be listed as soon as I get a minute! Keep an eye out π

There is now a 1920's rowing machine hanging on the wall in our living room. Megan actually let me get away with this! Here's a bit of history.
The rower is called 'The Seat of Health'. It was made by 'Health Developing Apparatus Co. Inc' in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. Aluminium frame and operates on a spring, pulley and rope system. It's even fully foldable. It was sold with a mini suitcase too, to store it.
I could take the time to source two new springs (as you can see they have seen better days) and restore it as best I can, but I'd much rather let it tell its own story with its original parts... for years to come on our wall π
Thanks to for the tip off!

I sold and palleted away this amazing machine to a new home in Cornwall this afternoon. A Universal Pec Dec built in the 1980's. It's hard to think that the chrome is still shining (after a bit of restoration) after 40 years.
The sticker on the machine reads 'UNIVERSAL 930 27th Avenue S.W. , Cedar Rapids, Iowa U.S.A. , 52406'. There is also a very old looking sticker with the serial number.
The weight stack has 24 increments and is not the usual weight stack. It has a 'Dynamic Variable Resistance' feature where it 'automatically and progressively changes the station's weight resistance to accomodate your body's changing leverage' during each rep. In short it keeps the muscles exerting throughout the full range of motion (and it feels brilliant!).
The numbers on the left side of the stack represents the starting weight resistance, and the numbers on the right side are the finishing weight resistance (at the top of the rep).
This machine just gets me excited π
Thanks to Sprint Xpress (Norwich) for another smooth pallet delivery and to Gym Repair Services (Ely) for supplying the new cable.
