Quadkids Athletic County Finals
Team Hill View took the short trip down the road to Abingdon last Friday to take part in the Quadkids County Finals at Tilsley Park. After winning both the Banbury Area and North Oxfordshire finals Hill View qualified for the county finals where they would be competing against 7 of the best Primary schools in Oxfordshire who had won their area competitions. The children were excited and a little nervous but showed try Hill View spirit throughout the morning. The children showed immense determination, teamwork and encouragement and gave it their absolute all. After all the events had been completed it was an anxious wait for the results. Team Hill View cam an impressive 3rd place in the county only missing out on top spot by less than 60 points. The children should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Thank you to Mr Gregory and the parents that gave up their time to help transport the children and also for their amazing support.
This wraps up another successful year for Hill View winning many competitions at Banbury and North Oxfordshire level as well as doing amazingly well at County level. Mr Rose would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to all the children for their efforts in lessons, sports days and festivals/competitions. We hope everyone has a lovely summer break.

Football Final match report
On Wednesday 10th July the year 5/6 boys football team took the short journey to Hanwell Fields School to compete in the Banbury Area boys cup final. The result in the league fixture saw Hill View come out 5-2 winners but we knew that it was going to be a more difficult game from an improved Hanwell side. The game was an even affair with both teams determined in the tackle and playing some lovely football. Hill View had lots of chances throughout the game but just couldn’t seem to find the finishing touch. Hanwell went on to score two well taken goals to win the final 2-0. The boys were disappointed but should hold their heads high for their efforts this season. On another day the match could have been a different result. Congratulations to Hanwell Fields.

40 of our KS2 children went to Wykham Park on Thursday 4th July to take part in the NOSSP WPA cluster rounders festival. The focus of the event was teamwork which they all showed an abundance of throughout the morning. The children showed fantastic striking and fielding skills with plenty of impressive catching and plenty of rounders scored. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the morning and can’t wait to take part in a festival/competition next year.

Well done to all the year 6 children that took part in the County Dynamos Cricket Finals last Thursday. Both the girls and boys team played against other schools from across the county who had qualified by winning their area events. The boys were drawn in Pool A where they played four games winning three and only losing one. They only just missed out on the final so had to settle for a place in the 3rd/4th playoff match. They come up against a very good North Kidlington side and suffered a narrow loss to finish 4th place in Oxfordshire. An unbelievable achievement from the boys, well done.

The girls played four matches in their group winning two and losing two. Three other teams had the same record so a place in the final was decided on runs scored. They narrowly missed out to Charlton who had scored 22 more runs than them. The girls had to settle for a place in the 3rd/4th place match just like the boys. They played brilliantly and came away with a convincing win to finish a well-deserved 3rd place in Oxfordshire.

What an amazing day of cricket and to finish 3rd and 4th in the county is an amazing achievement and something the children should be very proud of, well done team Hill View!

Well done to all the year 5-6 children that took part in the Wykham park cluster Dynamos Cricket competition. The intent of the competition was to develop and improve specific skills used in cricket. Our children were split into 4 teams consisting of two year 6 boys teams, year 6 girls team and a year 5 boys team. There were six other schools competing in the competition from the Wykham park cluster. Within each team category we would play each team once. Every child would bowl on over consisting of 5 balls and would also bat in every game. Our children have practiced hard leading up to the competition, sacrificing their lunchtime play to practice their cricket skills. All the children showed brilliant cricket skills throughout the day and a real understanding of the rules of cricket. Once all the games were played and the points were all added up it was a tense wait for the results. Hill View came 1st in every team category, winning all their games in the process. A huge well done to the children for an amazing achievement. Three of the teams now progress to the county finals after half term. Well done team Hill View!

Each child would take part in a maximum of two field and two track events throughout the morning. All the Hill View children gave it their all and showed brilliant team spirit with plenty of encouragement towards one another.
