Emma, our Whole School Practitioner delivered a dance workshop for YMCA holiday club this summer.
The YMCA youth worker said;
"The dance workshop was extremely effective. The young people thoroughly enjoyed the collaborative approach facilitated by the instructor, who encouraged them to devise and create the dance together. By treating the participants as experts, they were given a sense of agency, allowing them to safely explore their emotions and feelings. This approach highlighted how creativity and physical activity can greatly benefit both physical and mental health."
Fab work everyone, it looks like you all had lots of fun! ๐ ๐

Healthy friendships support positive mental health and well-being. Feeling included within a friendship group and having a sense of belonging can be important for a young person. As children and young people may be spending an increased amount of time socialising with peers on/offline this summer, they may need adults who care for them to help them establish boundaries within their peer groups and friendships and may need open conversations around what unhealthy friendships look like and how they can be supported with this.
Young Minds have a great page for young people who are struggling to navigate their friendships and peer groups.
