The role involves taking one of our smaller trucks home and being called out from home when required over a weekend. This job role is a great chance to earn extra income and learn new skills. Pay is per job and can be explained in more detail. Full on the job training provided at a pace you are comfortable with in all aspects of recovery with no limit to what the right individual can learn. No previous experience necessary but an interest in cars essential. Mechanical knowledge is important.
You must be able to pass Security vetting to work on our police and highways contracts. Other requirements are that you are an outgoing and a well motivated person willing to learn.

WHO WE ARE

Bakers Recovery is a family run business operating from our site in Oakley. We have a fleet of recovery trucks and employ over 20 staff.

Bakers Recovery is a contractor for Hampshire Police, the Highways Agency and various motoring organisations. We offer a 24 hour vehicle recovery service.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A reliable, trustworthy, organised, efficient, proactive, multitasker to take on and own the operational, administrative and customer service elements as required by the business.

Tasks include but are not limited to receiving phone calls and other methods of communication, job administration and invoicing using a dedicated database, dealing with any enquiries customer or general.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is computer literate, minimum requirements are Microsoft word, excel and outlook. You will need to be comfortable with things such as searching distances and locations on google maps and communicating this to other staff members. You will be required to pass CRB vetting.

Customer service and discretion is of the upmost importance so looking for a friendly and professional manner.

Our team environment is critical to our well functioning business and so this role requires a good team player.

We will invest on the job training to ensure that the additional aspects of this role are achieved.

We are a medium sized, busy, family-run business that has been trading from our site in Oakley for over 50 years. The first main element of our business is a workshop providing repairs to local customers’ vehicles, MOT’s and some commercial vehicle repairs. The second is 24h vehicle recovery services to motoring organisations, authorities and also private customers. We currently have a team of 24 staff across both departments. Our offices are a relaxed but a professional environment, wearing smart but casual clothes. Our aim is to recruit locally but we have parking on site for staff who commute by car (there are very few busses to Oakley so own transport would be essential).

We are looking for an experienced and wonderful Part-Time Accounts Person. Pay depending on previous accounting experience and working knowledge of Sage accounts package. A regular 20 hours a week, hours to suit. For the right candidate a few hours can be done at home once familiar with the job, but the large part would be in our office to work closely with other Admin staff.

We use Sage One as our accounts package and most of the work involved is done using Sage.
Responsibilities include on a weekly basis:

Importing sales and expenses
Uploading receipts and coding to correct nominal code
Making payments to suppliers
Reconciling the bank and credit cards
Working with the Admin team to rectify any anomalies
Monitoring overdue payments
General accounting administration
Reconciling petty cash
Prepare banking

Other responsibilities will include:

Quarterly Vat returns
End of year process
Liaising with accountants and responding to queries
Producing regular reports through the sage package to report to the various parts of the business.


We’re looking for someone with accounts experience and a previous knowledge of Sage accounting, Prior knowledge or experience in credit control / accounts receivable / sales ledger is a must.
Good computer skills are essential including basic Excel knowledge. This job is ideally suited to someone who feels they can handle all aspects of the accounts process from beginning to end, and although a large amount of support is available and initial training will be given, we would expect the ideal candidate to have overall responsibility for maintaining our accounting package accurately. You’ll need to be confident of your abilities, efficient working and diligent. You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.

Actually quite impress how someone can convert a push bike!

Vehicle seized!

Whilst out on community patrols, we came across this “mountain bike” with a petrol engine being ridden on public roads.

The list of issues with this type of vehicle is too long to post! The vehicle was seized and the rider was reported for relevant offences.
