Kula Yoga Bath
Yoga and wellbeing space in Oldfield Park, Bath. Classes, workshops and 1:1s available
It’s half term this week and my three little monkeys are keeping me busy! Just a reminder that my Friday morning class is on hold until next week, when I’ll be back with my normal timetable. And don’t forget you can now join me for classes twice a week, on Wednesday evenings (19.00-20.00) as well as Friday mornings (9.45-10.45), at Twerton Village Hall.
Enjoy the rest of your week 🌼
We had such a lovely weekend celebrating Esme’s first birthday with friends and family! I felt so many different emotions leading up to it, sad to think I will never experience the newborn phase again, excited to see her grow into the person she will become. It also made me think about my own growth over the past year, too. Being a Mum has changed me in ways I could never have imagined, and with all three births I learnt something new about myself. With Esme, I have fully learnt to embrace and love myself, and all of my wobbly bits, and accept that I will never be the same as I was before I had children. The most important thing to me now is that I am a positive role model for her, and the boys, as they grow up.
Thank you to everyone who joined me for my first yoga workshop on Saturday! I really enjoyed doing a longer practice and being able to incorporate more of the eight limbs of yoga.
My next Saturday morning workshop will be on the 25th of May (9.30-11.00) and is available to book on my website now. (Link in bio)
You can also catch me, as always, this Friday morning at Twerton Village Hall, 9.45-10.45.
Just a reminder that I’m currently off for two weeks with the kids (and Iron Man apparently) so there will be no classes tomorrow or next week.
My first class back will be on Friday 19th of April, and my first Saturday morning workshop will be the following week, on Saturday 27th. These are available to book on my website now!
Wishing you all a lovely rest of the week 🌸
As we celebrate the spring equinox and come into the new season of growth and rebirth, I’ve been thinking a lot about my own personal growth and how I can offer my yoga classes while still making it work for my family and I. I’m enjoying my Friday morning classes so much, and so have decided to add another class to my timetable! This will be a monthly hour and a half Saturday morning practice and will be in the same style as my hatha yoga Friday morning class, but will include a guided meditation and longer relaxation at the end. The first of these Saturday morning workshops will be on the 27th of April, 9.30-11.00 at Twerton Village Hall, and is available to book on my website now.
And just a quick reminder, my Friday morning class will be running as usual on Friday 29th (Good Friday), and then I will be on a two week break for the Easter holidays.
Getting back into teaching after a break has been such an exciting and empowering experience for me! The time I’ve had off has given me the chance to reflect on myself and what I can offer as a teacher. Since having Esme I’ve found my perspective of things has changed a lot, and I have a new confidence in myself and accepting who I am, as I am. Even my body has completely changed and will probably never go back to what it was pre-pregancy, but I think after making three babies it deserves to be embraced!
I’m so grateful for the time I get to have at home with my family, but having that hour to do something for myself every Friday morning has been really fulfilling, and it’s important to me that I am a positive role model for the kids. It’s also been such a joy to reconnect with people after almost a year away!
If you want to join me on the mat you can find me at Twerton Village Hall on Fridays, 9.45-10.45 (link to book in bio). I also have news of a Saturday class coming soon!
Today we close our doors at Hedley Hall and even though it‘s definitely the right decision for me at this time, I’m feeling very emotional thinking back on the year, everyone I met and the classes I taught!
THANK YOU for giving me the space to grow and learn, and being patient with me while I was navigating changes.
Even though it didn’t continue in the way I would have wanted it to, I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and everything I’ve learnt. When Matt and I first came together to bring Kula Yoga to Hedley Hall, we had a vision to create a calm and peaceful community space, where anyone and everyone felt welcome and comfortable, and I think, together with all the wonderful teachers who worked with me, we managed to achieve that! And that’s definitely something to feel proud of!
There have been ups and downs but it’s been so much fun and I don’t regret it at all!
It’s your last chance to come and practise with us before we close our doors on Friday! This week we have a limited timetable available:
Tuesday: 17.30-18.30 Hatha Yoga with Sonia
18.45 - 19.45 Beginners’ Yoga with Sonia
Wednesday: 11.30-12.30 Gentle Flow with Julie
18.30-19.30 After Work Hatha with Anna
Friday: 9.30-10.30 Hatha Yoga with Sonia
If you’d like to book a spot for the last time, please visit our website (link in bio).

Next week will be the last week at the beautiful space we used to create a a beautiful community, and it feels bittersweet. While I’ll miss teaching there and bringing yoga to the local community, I know this is not the end and I’m so excited to see what the future will bring! I’ve learnt so much over the past year and grown in confidence with my teaching. Running a business alone is so so hard and I have so much respect for all business owners who work so hard to make it work, but right now I need to focus on my little family.
For now, this page will become more about me and my every day life with 3 kids, as well as yoga! I really miss teaching and sharing yoga with others, but I don’t want to rush going back to teaching while Esme is still so little. It will definitely be a test trying to find a balance and hopefully now I can take it step by step and in my own time, without the pressure of running Kula Yoga.

Sonia will be taking over all Tuesday evening classes for the next 4 weeks. Join her for Early Evening Hatha, 17.30-18.30, or Yoga for Beginners 18.45-19.45. You can also catch Sonia every Monday and Friday morning for Mid-Morning Hatha! If you would like to book a class with Sonia, please visit our website (link in bio).

It’s taken me a while but I’m so pleased to finally officially announce the lovely Sonia has joined the Kula Yoga team! Sonia will be covering for me every Friday morning, 9.30-10.30, while I take maternity leave, but you can also find her every Monday, 10-11, for Mid-Morning Hatha.
Sonia teaches challenging yet meditative hatha vinyasa classes that not only improve flexibility and strength, but most importantly invite calmness and peace within. Her sequences feature longer holds of asanas so that the mind can, in time, find stillness through effort using yogic tools and techniques. Open to anyone and any body, both new and advanced practitioners can find new depths of practice; all that’s needed is the willingness to explore and playfulness to try.
If you would like to join Sonia for any of her classes, please visit our website (link in bio).

Tomorrow will be my last class as I go on maternity leave for the foreseeable future! Although this is an exciting new chapter for me, I’m really sad to have to step back from teaching for a while, but I’ll still be working behind the scenes! It will be a bit of an adjustment juggling a newborn and the business so please bear with me if things aren’t running as smoothly (and I forget to reply to an email or two). I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me and for all of the wonderful teachers that work with me and make Kula Yoga Bath the community space it is.
