Health Apps' goal is to produce beautifully designed, easy to use apps to help people become healthier or stay healthy. A Personal Announcement from the Founder of Cook&Count app
It is with much regret that I have to inform you that Cook&Count app has been removed from the iTunes and GooglePlay app stores. For the next three months, or until such time as we have found a new home for Cook&Count, if you have already installed the app then it will continue to work as long as you do not delete the app from your phone or tablet.
There are high costs involved in researching, designing, building and maintaining a high quality app, particularly one that uses calculations and stores data on behalf of users. It is a software application and they are expensive to create, support and keep up to date. These costs are much higher than the amount of revenue that comes in from any sales.
I originally started Cook&Count because I wanted to help all those people, or carers of people, with insulin dependent diabetes, including my son, who wanted to cook food from scratch and know how much carbohydrate it contained. I am as passionate as ever about this. We have been fighting to keep the app financially sustainable for some time. Over the years Cook&Count app has become an established part of carb counting support and is currently recommended by diabetes health professionals around the UK. It is also used by many others around the world. I believe that it is a service that should be offered by either the NHS or one of the main diabetes service providers. Please be reassured that we are doing everything we can to find a new home for the app and ensure that we can resume the service for new users as quickly as possible.
We would like to thank you for using the app, and like to reassure you that all your data will be kept private.

Don't get hung up on food fads! No single food is a “superfood”. It is overall balance that matters. As with any high fat product (coconut oil has 86% saturated fat compared with 52% for butter) coconut oil should be used sparingly, instead of as a replacement for oils like rapeseed, olive and sunflower. https://goo.gl/m7Hy3m
Coconut oil: not quite poisonous, but best treated with caution It's been trendy for some time – but these nuts are filled with saturated fat.
