For all the gigs and events missed this year!

To highlight that the live events sector urgently needs support from governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis, today is the international Global Action Day named

The live events industry contributes billions of pounds each year to the UK economy. NI plays a significant part in this. We need immediate help from local supporters and politicians to inform key decision makers of our plight.

What we need:

▪️Government-backed COVID – 19 Insurance Scheme to ensure if local lockdowns happen event organisers will recover costs and attendees will receive a refund.

▪️Government support for widespread proactive COVID -19 testing for event attendees

▪️A three-year extension to the reduced cultural VAT rate on tickets in line with DCMS recommendations

▪️Grants - not loans - made available to businesses in the events supply chain

▪️A specific job support scheme for live events supply chain until the government guidelines change on social distancing to allow a commercially viable return to work.

Alright folks, we've had a few messages recently asking us if we will be returning in any capacity soon because McHughs is open. Short answer is NO. We'd love nothing more than to get the show back on the road but unfortunately it just isn't gonna happen. Our number 1 priority is the safety for you all and the safety of the staff at McHughs. So once it is safe to do so we will be back giving you tasty riffs all night long. We don't know when, but we know where...
