Tonight and tomorrow our teams kick off another season. We wish all our players, parents and coaches the best for the season ahead.

We don’t measure success in our team by winning (although we love to win!) We want to see growth in our players from developing their football skills, game understanding, fitness, work rate, confidence, being a team player, social skills, sportsmanship, resilience…that’s a big one! I feel nowadays we try to protect children from too much.

The 11th year of TW Braga. An initiative set up to unite two communities. We are proud to have 30 different nationalities at our club. Sport and football is the universal language that brings everyone together.

TW Sports celebrates 20 years in operation during 2025. Providing football for all from Toddler Soccer and Mini Soccer to after school clubs, holiday clinics and so much more.

As I enter my 28th year coaching I’m looking for more coaches and volunteers. I’m looking for one, maybe two coaches, to closely work with me on a daily basis.

In return you’ll be paid for your time. Have me mentor you and a great platform for growth and additional opportunities.

Here are some more action shots from last Friday when Onside Soccer came to visit us at Avoniel.... Thanks so much to Four Star Pizza for feeding us. You guys were on time and delivered us enough food for 65 people. Unfortunately they did not last long enough for us to get a picture 😂

A huge thank you to Onside Soccer for joining us at Avoniel Soccer Centre this afternoon! It was a fantastic experience playing matches across various age groups, and we hope it was just as enjoyable for you. Every game was closely contested, and it was clear that we share the same ethos in coaching—focused on development, sportsmanship, and passion for the game. We hope you all enjoyed the pizza afterward! Your company was excellent, and we were especially impressed by the outstanding talent on your teams. We wish you a safe journey home and look forward to visiting you at your place soon!

We set up TW Braga over 10 years ago so that children from both sides of the community could play football together. Now we are the most inclusive club in Belfast with over 30 different nationalities at the club.

Our community program is looking for coaches (paid positions) to deliver after school clubs, toddler and mini soccer + holiday camps.

This role is freelance and can be combined with a role in the club too.

We are on the look out for a goalkeeper and a few more outfield players for our 2011 boys team.

We also require a goalkeeper for our girls team 2011-2013. There is some outfield positions available to.

So turn off the electronic devices, head to Ormeau Park and join the coaches and boys and girls for a week of fun, friendship and football education from the main man TW. Fantastic performance from TW Braga Stars 2013 today on winning the Chimney Corner Youth Tournament Shield. After a slow start in the first game in which we were very unlucky to concede with literally 3 seconds left, we grew into the tournament and gained confidence with every kick, tackle and goal and started to play our own brand of football and play the way we like to play. With some lovely team goals from Leo, Bobby, Rylee (with a cracking volley), Carter and Tommy, coupled with a strong defence all tournament, ultimately got us through to the final.

Tough enough game in the final, as we expected, but again didn’t let that put us off as we had a few good chances with some nice transitions from defence into attack and spreading the ball but at times the game did get a bit scrappy and a few heart stopping moments followed. Final whistle goes and penalties ensued. Huge respect to the whole team as each and every player volunteered to take a penalty. The penalties that were taken were all fantastic and in light of yesterday's disappointment in the penalty shoot out, think it’s worth a mention to Bobby and Jacob for stepping up and showing huge bravery and resilience, both scoring from the spot with Leo stepping up and tucking his shot neatly past the keeper.

Extremely proud of the way we conducted ourselves both on and off the pitch. We enjoyed the wins and showed humility to the teams who were beaten. Rab and I cannot be more proud of this group of players today, we were brilliant. Our attitude, our team spirit never faltered and our willingness to support each other was exemplary. It’s hard to believe that with the first match we played this morning, it was the Stars very first ever competitive game, never mind going on to win a whole tournament. It has to be applauded. Regardless though of winning trophies etc, had we not have won today our message would still be the same. You were fantastic and the team that is developing can always learn from these types of matches and tournaments.

This is just the start of our journey. More twists and turns for our upcoming first season still to come. Bring it on.

It was a pleasure to meet Markus Halsti. A former professional Finnish international that played for Malmo, DC United and Midtjylland.

Markus was very kind with his time. Telling the children at the camp about his career and games that he played against Iniesta and Zlatan. He answered questions from the kids. He also stayed to watch them play.

It was lovely to be able to chat to him for some time. A true professional and gentleman.

What an amazing experience working with all these amazing children at the IPS training camp in Imatra, Finland this week.

The weather was 25-29 degrees every day yet the energy, performance, behaviour and respect from all the participants was amazing.

To all the IPS coaches and staff thank you for your amazing support, hard work, friendship and positive impact you created this week.

My very good friend, Emilio, that looks after me so well.

As always I return from Imatra with such a positive experience. Seeing many good friends again and wonderful hospitality. Lovely to make many new friends. Kiitos.
