We’re so excited for you to see the glorious range of work we have on show this year, from a wide range of LGBTQIA+ artists and makers!

Sessions such as these ensure our team are fully prepared to do the best possible job, safely.

We had a fantastic time on our silent disco walking tours of East Belfast as part of the July Weekender with EastSide Partnership 🎧🕺

Disco goers saw the local sights, such as CS Lewis Square, Portview Trade Centre and the Yardmen while dancing the day away!

Silent Disco Walking Tour - Newtownards Road (Meeting at C.S. Lewis Square)

Two tours on Friday 5th July at 12pm and 2pm.

Walk (or Dance!) your way along the Newtownards Road listening to east Belfast themed or general disco music on headsets. Facilitated by MayWe events, the silent disco walking tour will stop off at public and open spaces along the Newtownards Road.

The event is FREE but booking is essential.

Today we’re joining The National Lottery Heritage Fund in celebrating !

MayWe are the proud venue operators of listed Heritage building, 2 Royal Avenue in Belfast City centre.

A bit of background 👇

The building was designed by WJ Barre between 1864-1869, it's origin being the head office of the Provincial Bank of Ireland.

Barre was a prolific Irish architect who built many well-known buildings in Ireland in a Gothic Revival style. His best-known works include the Albert Memorial Clock and Ulster Hall. When Barre died following a short illness in 1867, at the age of 37, architecture firm Turner and Williamson completed the building.

Fast forward to 2021, Belfast City Council took ownership of the building, transforming it into a cultural civic hub ✨

The venue is free to visit and provides:

🧸 A fun, dedicated kids zone
✨ A sensory dome with beanbags and toys
📚 A cosy library corner with books from local NI & ROI authors
🖋 Pods for study or work
☕ Yallaa Café, a social enterprise who promote Arabic Culture
🎶 Three unique spaces for workshops, meetings or events!
🎨 A gallery space for monthly exhibitions

Baby changing and accessible bathroom facilities are available.

We are bidding a fond farewell (or see you later!) to our wonderful placement student, Anne-Louise 👋

Anne-Louise has been a fantastic addition to the MayWe team for the past 6 months. Many of you may have seen her in 2 Royal Avenue assisting Eimear and Ruby with a variety of events or enjoyed a friendly chat with her about the venue 💬

It's been a pleasure to see Anne-Louise gain a range of Event Management skills and experience since January, and we know she will go on to do great things 👏

We are delighted to continue our partnership with Belfast Met to contribute to the future generation of Event Managers 😊

The MayWe Team brought the sun to Cookstown Continental Market last weekend ☀️

We were delighted to work with Mid Ulster Council to bring a fun Kidzone to the continental market, featuring drop in nature art sessions 🎨 planting workshops 🌱 and sensory kits and toys for the quiet space 🤫

To add to the wonderful atmosphere we provided a unique programme of walkabout entertainment including spring themed performers 🧚‍♀️, magicians 🪄, rainbow bubbles 🫧 and samba music 🎶

The team enjoyed chatting to all the market visitors and we hope to bring the sun with us again next time!

We are delighted to share the news that MayWe has been selected as one of the consultants for The National Lottery Heritage Fund Register of Support Services Framework (RoSS) 🎊

A note from MayWe's Co-Managing Directors Lois and Sarah-Jane, "We look forward to supporting the work of the Heritage Fund over the next few years and using our creative expertise to contribute to the array of unique and diverse projects."

The framework will commence in April 2024, we can't wait to get started!
