We introduced Achill Island Sea Salt into the cabinet this time last year, and the response has been so good! So good in fact, we've decided to add it to our takehome tub range!

Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb / How it's made / We use the best Peanut Butter on the island of Ireland, of course! Add the smooth peanut butter into our base and churn. Once it's ready to come out of our batch machine, we add chunks of French Village brownies and Honeycomb, two Belfast stalwarts. An all-Island gelato flavour!

Our gelato is built from scratch…but what does that mean? 🍦

With milk provided from Draynes Farm, we take that fresh Co. Antrim dairy, pasteurise it in in preparation for our base, and steep various flavours in it before we churn. The base is then put through our machine and incorporated with some of our favourite (local) inclusions like honeycomb, coffee, brownies and gooey cakes. A lot of time and care goes into our product and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

How it’s made - we add a caramel paste to our milk base, along with a pinch of Achill Island sea salt. On extraction from our batch freezer, we add chunks and chunks of cookie dough. This flavour is definitely for the sweet gelato enthusiasts amongst us...enjoy!

We got to know Joanna from one of our first weeks of opening the shop in Ormeau, back in 2017. Since then, Joanna and her team have been great supporters of all our shops over the years. Q: When did you start Back on Track?
A: Back on Track originally opened in the Linen Green, Dungannon, before we opened our Belfast clinic in 2018!

Q: How has East Belfast changed over the years that you have known it?
A: I feel like the main hub of activity is diffusing out! It’s becoming so vibrant with lots of great new spots popping up all the time!

Q: In three words, describe East Belfast?
A: Full of flavour!

A: Best coffee? Oliver’s!

On the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, they grow the best pistachios on the planet. This variety of pistachio grows in the rugged landscape of Bronte, where volcanic soil provides the perfect environment for pistachio trees to flourish. It is here they acquire their brilliantly unique emerald green colour and incredible taste. For this flavour, we use nothing more than these amazing nuts ground into a fine paste.

Deja Vu has been operating on the Lisburn Road for almost 40 years, selling women’s pre-loved clothing and accessories. This really is a treasure chest for amazing brands and clothing pieces, all sourced by the wonderful proprietor Ruth and her hard working team. Pop in this weekend, you never know what you might find!

Q: When did Deja Vu first open?
A: We started in 1984, Mum and her friend Brenda opened it above Ewings fish shop.

Q: How has the road changed in the last 10 years?
A: I grew up on the road, and there have been so many changes over the years. You can't move for great coffee these days!

Q: In three words, describe the Lisburn Road?
A: 3 words - has it all!

Q: Last, but most importantly- Best pint on the road?
A: As for pints, more of a prosecco girl, and nothing better than a visit to Shu, for a glass of it and some delicious salt and chilli squid!
