For the first time, the UK Film and Television sectors have come together to tackle the systemic challenges to skills development in the industry. The Task Force, made up of 28 organisations from across the sector, was convened to respond to the BFIโs Skills Review published in June 2022.
With this report, the Task Force has set out a new long-term vision to resolve the long-standing skills challenge in the sectors. The Task Force will continue until March 2024 to support the implementation of these proposals.

Disney+ UK and Northern Ireland Screen are joining forces in a ground-breaking collaboration, as announced at the Belfast Media Festival .๐ฌ
This remarkable initiative to support and grow the production sector in Northern Ireland invites local independent production companies to pitch for a chance to receive a development fund awarded by Disney+ UK and Northern Ireland Screen.
Up to five Northern Ireland-based companies will be awarded funding and exclusive one-on-one creative sessions with Sean Doyle, Director of Unscripted, Disney+ EMEA.

The 2023 Belfast Media Festival kicked off yesterday with a bang, bringing together industry leaders and delegates across Northern Ireland.
Yesterday was filled with enlightening talks, panels, and workshops, including those which featured some of our Northern Ireland Screen team. Gavin Kelly, our Facilities & Sustainability Manager, shared insights into our progress and continued commitment to sustainability, and Bronagh McAtasney from the Digital Film Archive delved into the challenges of working with sensitive archive material.
