This absolutely stunning crocheted scarf was a commissioned gift by someone for themselves.

I love this. The thought that someone wanted to treat themselves to a bespoke garment, made specifically for their own use, by little old me. Always flattering and always an honour to be asked to create a specific item for you.
This yarn is simply beautiful. It's an acrylic blend with added merino. The yarn I use is always cruelty free. This Merino wool is mulesing free. You can look that up if you like, but I suggest you have already eaten before you do.

Here's another one of my baby fleece blankets. These are so popular to gift. It's always an absolute privilege to be asked to create something for a new person.
Baby fleece blankets are double thickness, but still quick to dry. Fleece is very versatile. It's warm and very easy to care for.

I needed a smaller scarf/neck warmer to match my wee hat. So I made this buff/cowl.
I think Dolores models it quite well!

I didn't have a pattern to follow, so I went with my gut and winged it. Starting the year as every year and flying through life by the seat of my pants.
Other people who have, "works well under pressure", on their C.V. will understand.🤣 Just know, that's not a throw away comment from me. It's 💯% true!

Here's something a little bit different. AND please stay with me and read to the end🙏 Here's some photos of some snazzy bow ties I made for Xmas with velcro, to make them size adjustable collars for some very special pets.
There's also a photo of my very own best friend, because he's just the best and here he is showing off his very own bow tie. Now imagine, as a dog owner, that there's a knock at your door and someone wants to take away and euathanise YOUR best friend because of their perceived breed.

Here's the thing...and the point too. I wouldn't normally wade in with politics here on my business page. But I simply cannot stand by and watch this abhorrent and unelected government impose yet another law, without making other people aware of the situation here today for England and Wales. But take a look at the last photo. It's absolutely heartbreaking to me as an animal lover. This is yet another step too far for this current government in Westminster. Here in Scotland (and also Northern Ireland) the ban on 'so-called' XL bully breeds hasn't been enacted. But today just over the border, although a last minute stay of ex*****on has been actioned that won't be for long. My heart goes out to every rescue centre who is currently looking after these dogs.
New legal restrictions on type dogs are now in place 🚨

They must be kept on a lead and muzzled in public. It is also illegal to sell, advertise, gift, exchange and abandon these dogs, or let them stray.

Owners wanting to keep an XL Bully should register their dog by applying for a Certificate of Exemption before 1 February 2024. Strict criteria apply.

If you no longer wish to keep an XL Bully, owners can arrange for a vet to euthanise them and apply for compensation towards your loss.

I think if we can say there's a worse bit to this, which we can't, it's that people are being offered £200 by this corrupt government to have their pets euthanized.

Finally, today, I started getting our own Christmas ready. I have been drying seed heads such as honesty and dill, lily seed pods, and collecting feathers whilst out on my runs with the dog. I dried some orange slices to decorate with too. They smell absolutely wonderful! The base was made from some willow and Hazel. I have yet to add my ribbon bow and I cannot decide between olive or sky blue velvet. I'll sleep on it.

People keep asking me me if I'm 'ready' for Christmas. I'm not even ready for today!

There was a time in the past when even sewing needles came in beautiful and RECYCLABLE packaging.
Why can't this be the norm now? Needles these days tend to be packaged in pointless plastic boxes. Wouldn't it be easier to supply them like this again in recycled paper?

It's definitely the sort of cold night for hunkering down and cracking on with the crochet orders kind of evening.
I love watching a TV series or film or listening to podcasts when I am working.
I am really enjoying watching a German TV series right now. It's called 'Dark', and I am hooked. 🤣 It's right up my street. Without any spoilers, it's sci-fi, it's deep and intriguing, well written, the characters are absorbing, it is complex and is so compelling. It is available on Netflix here in the UK.

I would be intrigued to know what you're currently watching that has you absorbed?

I have had a few enquiries again recently regarding the double thickness baby fleece blankets.

So here are some photos and information regarding them.

Choose a plain colour for the front and a pattern for the back. Add a plethora of tagged, satiny ribbons to adorn the top of the blanket, which babies love to play with and feel. It's very stimulating for them. They look fabulous too. The name is appliquéd in plain contrasting fleece and then I add stars or hearts as decoration .
Large tagged baby blankets are double thickness and are roughly 75 x 90cm. The ribbons are stitched through 5 times so they're anchored in tightly.
As the blankets are made from fleece fabric, they dry very quickly when you wash them and don't need tumbling to soften. So you save a bit on energy too.

Blankets are just £45 for blankets WITH NAMES OF UP TO SIX LETTERS. Each additional letter costs £2.

So, this is an absolute bargain for a personalised and individually made item of this quality. Every single one is made to order. Colours are multiple, pretty much whatever you want, and are all handmade by me!
