Have you seen this weather forecast!?! Warmer temperatures and drier days mean we can begin planning some outside jobs.

🌤️ Get that stuff headed broom out and clear patios and decking.

🌤️ Jet was drives and patio areas.

🌤️ Clean off your garden planters of dirt buildup.

🌤️ We can look to clear out the guttering of all the winter debris.

🌤️ Once we have had a few dry days we can give the wooden items in our gardens a protective coat

🌤️ Gently shape some of the bushes and roses in the garden.

I don’t know about you but I am excited to get started in these jobs!!!

Spring is springing but the weather is a bit naff to be planning jobs outside. It’s also wise to leave clearing the garden for a little longer as animals are still hibernating while others are nesting.

The big spring clean used to be a tradition and although we don’t do this to the same extent as we did back in the day I think we all get that urge to get the house cleared of the winter feeling.

My trigger is when the sun streams through the window and we see the grime and those fingerprints so out comes the white vinegar!

We love this window display, so bright and cheery.

We have managed to get a few loads of washing on the line and have even given some of our clothes a new lease of life with Dylon Machine Dye.

As soon as we have a few consecutive dry days the fences will be getting a protective coat or two.

White vinegar can be used as a household cleaner, with many uses from a general surface cleaner to unblocking and sanitising drains.

Have you checked the seals around your windows and doors? We can lose up to 25% of our heat from poor insulation. We offer you a simple and inexpensive solution with draught excluders for doors and self adhesive foam strips for the windows. 💨❄️

The combination of fallen leaves and damp surfaces can be catastrophic. No one wants a fall during these months. Make clearing leaves a weekly task. Will seem less daunting than leaving them till all the leaves have dropped and far safer. 🍁🍂

Have you ever tried Citric Acid? If you haven’t then nows the time to add it to the household cleaning kit.

Re-use an empty spray bottle, or pick one up from us, fill it with your DIY citric acid cleaner, and you'll be able to use it to clean and disinfect every part of your home.

Here’s a few ways in which it can be used:

🍋 A brilliant and safe way of removing limescale from your kettle!

🍋 Mix some Citric Acid (2tsp) with Bicarbonate of Soda (1tsp) and add to your dishwasher or washing machine then run on a hot wash to remove soap scum

🍋 Deep clean your home without the harsh chemicals. To use as a disinfect for the surfaces in your home, mix a few spoonful of it with warm water in a spray bottle. If you like you can add a few drops of essential oils, and your home will smell as clean as it is.

With the final Bank Holiday of 2023 being upon us here are our opening hours for the next few days.

If your plan is to get some tasks completed in the home or the garden over the weekend, make sure you pop in before we close on Saturday.

Now is the time to get your chimenea looking fabulous and ready to keep you warm on the cooler summer evenings. Here is a project that one of our customers took on. They used a small amount of HOTSPOT Stove and Grate Polish.
