Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join the West Midlands Fire Service team? We are currently hiring for a Storekeeper/Driver. This is a full-time position that will be available from April 2023.
As a Storekeeper/Driver, you will be responsible for various warehouse and distribution duties under the guidance of the Warehouse and Distribution Manager.
You will use the sectionβs computer and email systems to issue stock and transport requests, and you will transport goods to Fire Stations and other WMFS locations within the West Midlands region on a rotational basis with the other Storekeeper/Drivers.
We are looking for candidates with experience in warehouse and distribution sections and using Warehouse IT systems, preferably Oracle Inventory. A full clean UK driving licence is a must, and you must be able to carry out manual handling duties.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Today we had the pleasure of commissioning another PRL to Erdington Fire Station. With some minor adjustments to equipment stowage we soon had crews back protecting their home patch and enjoying the benefits of modern vehicles.
A little late but last week we commissioned a brand new, that of the art, new pump rescue ladder to West Bromwich Fire Station. With the help of crews we quickly had them swopped into their new vehicle and after some familisation they were soon back ensuring their communities are protected.
After a few tweaks and storage alterations to suit the needs of the crew, West Bromwich Fire Station took possession of their new appliance today. The new state of the art Pump Rescue Ladder is another step forward in modernising modern day fire fighting and serving our communities.
Crews from Sutton Coldfield's Technical Rescue Unit collected their purpose built TRP (Technical Rescue Pump) vehicle last Friday. This vehicle was built around the ever changing needs of a modern technical rescue unit and we worked closely with crews and senior staff to deliver there vision for their vehicle.
Our crews across the West Midlands will be observing the minute's silence and parading outside their stations for the National Moment of Reflection this evening at 8pm.
As Charles III is proclaimed King, our thoughts remain with His Majesty, his family and everyone who mourns Queen Elizabeth II.
Flags at our stations and buildings will today fly at full-mast to mark the proclamation, before being lowered to half-mast tomorrow for the remainder of the mourning period.
Death of HM The Queen - West Midlands Fire Service This evening, Thursday 8 September, we learned with great sadness of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, has died aged 96.
Her Majesty maintained a close relationship with the Armed Forces throughout her life.

well what can we say, after 37 yrs and 38 yrs of dedicated service to WMFS Transport Engineering Workshops Bill Pearson and Phil Brown are retiring today. They will both be sorely missed but we all wish them the very best in all they have planned in the future.
