This Christmas is going to be amazing but manic so if possible we need everything in around the 15th December ❤️ so we can sort each child on our ever growing list ❤️ lots of our families are working but struggling there is no help for them but we are positive their children won’t be left out on Christmas Day ❤️

This is the charity we support. This shared status is the reason why. If you can spare any clothing then feel free to drop it off at our offices, or if you need help, contact them. They are the nicest bunch of people with hearts of gold. We’re proud to help in any way we can.

Since opening the clothing bank in January 2020 we have helped over 4,000 individuals with clothing toiletries new toys ❤️ from babies to pensioners ❤️ every person gets roughly 10kg of clothing that equals around 40 tonne of clothing we have saved from landfill ❤️ we are working alongside lots of other organisations providing the clothing for their clients ❤️ we are now going into colleges and schools to provide items for the children who don’t have ❤️ our biggest achievement is the clothing bank community 45,000 of us wanting to help others is mind blowing ❤️ you are all amazing we have over 80 drop off points now more people joining https://theclothingbank.org.uk/Menu/dropoffpoints ❤️ please share no one needs to be undressed ❤️

We are excited to announce that Adam Shaw has re-joined Dragonfly Consulting! Adam completed his year in industry with us back in 2017 whilst completing his degree in Sound Engineering at Birmingham City University. Adam impressed us so much with his work ethic, his ‘will do’ attitude and his skills in the field of acoustics that we have got him back. Adam’s skills lie mainly within our health and safety department carrying out noise at work assessments, dust and fumes at work assessments, alongside vibration at work assessments. New 'sky bar' hotel to open in the spring - bringing 130 jobs A NEW 150-bedroom hotel in the heart of York is set to be completed by April - creating more than 100 jobs.

We’ve been reliably informed that this week is so we thought we would share a small selection of photos from our noise surveys.
We work from the initial planning stage through to construction and post-completion compliance testing. It would appear some of the team have artistic skills as well as those in the sector!

Today is Mental Health Awareness Day. Dragonfly Consulting understands the importance of good mental health, especially in the workplace. We have created a relaxed, flexible environment for our team in order for them to strive and achieve more, whilst being able to look after themselves and one another at the same time.

The HSE guidance document “Noise at work: A brief guide to controlling the risks” states:

“You should review your risk assessment if circumstances change or if it is no longer valid, for example if the work changes and this affects workers’ noise exposure, or there are changes to the availability, applicability or cost of noise-control measures. You should not leave it for more than about two years without checking whether a review is needed.”

Whilst the document directly references occupational noise, it is considered that this practice could be equally applicable to other aspects of occupational safety, such as dust and vibration exposure. Changes of working practice, new equipment, staff turnover and general wear and tear of current equipment may all contribute to a change in exposure levels, so a review of the existing risk assessments is, similarly, recommended at least once every two years.

If your workplace requires an assessment of occupational noise, hand-arm vibration or whole body vibration, or provision of air sampling in support of a COSHH assessment, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Our MD Chris Chittock undertaking a mock planning appeal with Senior Consultants Daniel Vallis, Andy Sills and Mark Smith to revisit the process of giving evidence at appeal hearings.

Gaining experience of unique challenges such as those found at planning appeal hearings is part of everyday training at Dragonfly Consulting. We focus heavily on Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and our team are encouraged to take every opportunity for CPD. As a trained and accredited expert witness, Chris passing on his knowledge and experience in training sessions of this type is part of our regular in-house CPD program.

Dragonfly Consulting would like to welcome Mark Smith to the team. Mark joins us as a Senior Acoustic Consultant with a background in the assessment and control of Environmental Noise and Vibration. We are really pleased to have Mark onboard and know he will play a key role in Dragonfly’s future!

It’s a really exciting time at Dragonfly right now as we continue to grow and develop; we know Mark will thrive in the Dragonfly environment!

Here we have a throwback to 7 years ago when we recruited a new team member for a day! Andy’s wife Lindsey joined him while he undertook event monitoring in the beautiful North Yorks Moors. The works consisted of following the noise management plan we created with live noise level monitoring at the nearby houses to ensure the festivities did not trouble the nearby residents. We are happy to report the event went without a hitch, unfortunately for Andy and Lindsey the same couldn’t be said about the weather!

Dragonfly Consulting's very own Junior Acoustic Consultant, Ben Lee, carrying out post completion sound insulation testing for UOWN at their site in , where 17 new apartments have been built.

Noise monitoring is not all glitz and glamour.

The team at Dragonfly Consulting have extensive experience of noise control for waste management and energy generation.
We have been undertaking noise monitoring for this client for over 10 years now.
Their site operates a Waste Sorting Facility, an Energy From Waste (EFW) plant, as well as wind turbines to ensure our waste still works hard, even after we have disposed of it!

A flying throwback to one of our previous assessments. We completed operational noise monitoring at a private jet maintenance centre in relation to the relocation of their operations.
