Unfortunately, we haven't been able to open today. Many of the nearby roads have been closed, including our fire evacuation routes and fire assembly point. We had anticipated being able to open this afternoon, but I’m afraid not. Apologies if you had hoped to visit today. We will reopen as normal tomorrow Sunday July 31st.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will be closed tomorrow Saturday 30th July until 2pm. Many of the nearby roads will be closed during the morning because of the Commonwealth Games marathon, including our fire evacuation routes and assembly point, and health & safety is our priority. The Edwardian Tearooms will open at 2pm. Hope to see you this weekend!

We are very pleased to announce that Birmingham Museums Trust has been awarded a grant of £1.87 million from the Culture Recovery Fund. The grant will help us face the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure the organisation has a sustainable future beyond the crisis.
