Dozens of families benefited from our Qurbani project in Bamako, the capital of Mali. Through your generous contributions, the International Waqf Fund facilitated 140 Qurbanis, totaling 1,960 rights-holders. Working closely with the local community, our teams also thoroughly inspected the Qurbanis to make sure they complied with Islamic regulations before their slaughter and distribution.

Ishaq ibn Abi Talha, a wealthy Ansar from Medina, was moved by the Ayah, "You will not attain righteousness until you spend from that which you love," to give his beloved garden, which overlooked a mosque where the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prayed, as Sadaqah for the sake of Allah. Last year's earthquake in Turkey and Syria caused multiple orphanages to close. Fortunately, the International Waqf Fund partially funded the Islamic Relief’s assistance to carry out an emergency program. This program provided financial support, , food and shelter supplies, and other necessities to earthquake victims. "Diba" and her grandchildren are back at the orphanage; this is made possible by the Orphan Care Program's ongoing support.

In Niger, West Africa, around 12 million people are living in extreme poverty.

Mariama, a 14-year-old girl, resides with her mother, who has been the family's sole breadwinner since her husband's passing. Before enrolling in the Orphan Care Program supported by the Waqf Fund, Mariama's mother struggled to provide a living for her four children by selling vegetables. However, with the support of our program, Mariama's mother could afford to send her back to school and provide her with the necessary study materials.

A 71-year-old Indian grandmother, called "Banubai," expressed her gratitude for receiving the Ramadan food parcel. She mentioned that the parcel would suffice for her family's needs for two months and help alleviate the expenses of purchasing essential items.

Hundreds of families in Sri Lanka still struggle to access clean drinking water. Yagoma, a mother of three, and her husband faced extra expenses and exerted considerable effort to obtain water. However, in 2023, their situation improved, thanks to a project that cost £48,000. The project involved drilling a deep well, installing a water purification station, and training residents in facility maintenance. Today, the project produces around 5000 litres of clean water daily, so 800 families can now access affordable and reliable drinking water.
