Ashura is the 10th day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. It's a special day for Muslims as it marks a few important historical events including when Allah saved Prophet Musa (Moses) and the Israelites from the Pharaoh.

Fasting on Ashura is a way for Muslims to thank Allah for His blessings and protection. While fasting on Ashura isn't compulsory, it's highly recommended. In fact, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told us that fasting on this day can wipe out your minor sins from the previous year.

Important reminder for those who want to sacrifice this Eid.

Today is 29th of Dhul Qa'dah 1445, which means there is chance of new moon to be sighted this evening.

The Prophet ﷺ said: When the ten days (of Dhu’l-Hijjah) begin – and any one of you wants to offer a sacrifice, he should refrain from cutting his hair and nails.” Narrated by Ahmad and Muslim.

Therefore, the last day for cutting hair and nails for those who are intending to sacrifice is TODAY Thursday 6th June 2024 before sunset.

This is only for those intending to do the sacrifice (Qurbani)

Please remind others too. May Allah accept our Ibadaat and sacrifices...Aameen!!

Dhul Hijjah is an important Islamic month. It is the month of Hajj and Eid al Adha.

Dhul Hijjah is estimated to be on 7 June.

Day of Arafat is estimated to be 15 June.

Eid is estimated to be on 16 June.
